Thought I would share this news item from Rueters:

Steve McQueen stands next to his 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso in an undated file photo released to Reuters on April 27, 2007. A 1963 Ferrari once owned and driven by the late film star Steve McQueen is expected to fetch between $800,000 and $1.2 million at an auction in August, Christie's said. It would be so cool to own a 1963 250 GT, but then to have one that was owned by Steve McQueen, well, that would just be way cool!

Good luck to the person who pays that much for that car. There's no way I would even if I had 1M I didn't know what to do with.

:iagree: I'd rather get that Bugatti for that kind of money.

Hmm....THe Great Escape is one of his movies...that movie was mentioned in a video game called Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. A character in the game named "Major Tom" was named after a tunnel named Tom from the movie :p

And Bullitt too! :righton: Though, no Chuck Bronson in that one.

Is it just me, or does Steve look really goofy in that pic?

I am younger than you and I know who he is!

He was in a bunch of car movies from "back in the day" Le Mans and Bullit being some of the more famous ones.

He looks goofy!

I also know who he is... we actlly took a look at him in film (what an awsome way to get an english credit). I love his work

250's are gorgeous cars, I bet it will fetch over 1 million between the rarity of the car itself and the fact that Steve McQueen owned it.

wow.. i think that pricetag is rediculous. i couldnt care less about the cars history, or whos driven it, if a car looks nice i'll like it, dont care what it is. but this thing is ugly + their puting a 1 mill tag on it because some famous dude owned it, pfft.

Ugly?! OMG! Well I guess that is why we have chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. I think the car is a work of art.
