Here's a suggestion for the future... next time you buff out a car, dial in a process that works to one small area and inspect under different lighting conditions.

Make sure you're getting the results you want, hope and dream about in one small area before buffing out the entire car.

If you're not getting the results you want or expect in this one small area then come back here to the forum and share with us what you're seeing and everyone here will do their best to help you tweak your technique or pad and product choice till you are getting the results you want.

Then... you can buff out the rest of the car with the confidence you'll get the same results over the entire car that you created in the test spot.

This is the purpose of the test spot.

Well I did a test spot with m105 on orange pad then m205 on white pad then finished it off with po85rd on grey pad. Then wolfgang sealant then fuzion wax. After that the car turned out flawless. Couldn't ask for better results. Thanks everybody that has helped. Couldnt have done everything without you. Thanks again. Brandon

While Wolfgang and Pinnacle offer correction products what I've found is that some finishes and defects require a product with just a bit more muscle.

Meguiar's M105 and M205 are a very powerful one two combination and will hold their own in the correction arena.

The finish on my 2004 Z06 is hard, and I mean HARD. None of the polishes I tried had much affect on the swirls and scratches and then I gave Meguiar's M105 a try...Can you say progress?

Occasionally you'll come across a stubborn finish and will need to determine which product and pad combination work best...

My personal favorites are Menzerna like of correction products. They allow me a bit more flexibility when something challenging comes along. Menzerna also makes a great sealant; Menzerna Power Lock....

Good to hear Brandon, thanks for the update.

To date, I have not found a single paint system that won't finish down perfect using any of the Menzerna finishing polishes with a soft finishing pad on a DA Polisher. I usually use the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze to benchmark test other polishes which is a Menzerna formula.

Meguiar's raised the bar pretty high when they introduced SMAT products like M105, M86 and Ultimate Compound and this has caused other abrasive polish manufactures to get back into the laboratory to compete and I think we're seeing the results with new compounds being introduced by Optimum and other companies yet to be introduced. One thing for sure, the true test for any abrasive compound or polish is on black paint.

Just goes to show, competition is good for the market place.
(You and I are the market place)
