I`ve had a love/hate relationship with D114. I love and probably always will love ONR. I have over a half gallon of D114 I am trying to use up just to get rid of it.
Hi Frank...If alot of detailers like 114 what makes
meguairs think that another formula is
going to sell any better.
Guys & Gals,
I've been working on a killer rinseless
wash formula for the last few months,
and we're getting close enough to
nailing the formula that it's time to start
offering samples for evaluation!
Wet set out to develop a rinseless wash
that leaves NOTHING behind (no gloss
enhancers, no wax, no polymers - NADDA!).
You can also dilute it for use as a detail spray,
waterless wash, paint stripper (think IPA).
Who wants to test it out?![]()
What made D114 special was that it did not behave like a typical rinseless that behaved like a detailer. When you spread it coated the surface (like it had a wetting agent in it) and did not bead and want to run off.
This is my favorite part about the product... it actually dwells on the surface wherever you apply it, even on vertical panels. This is fantastic when claying because you can spray down an entire panel and then just clay the whole thing rather than spray, spray, spray every few seconds to keep the area in front of the clay bar wet.
Or...you could just use clay lube.
I'm no chemist, but if the products didn't play a significant role in breaking down the lsp, then why would they be making "low solvent" detail sprays such as this?

Well RunRun411 I'm sure you've been all over our thread(s) about Beta testing this new RW that AG will be releasing soon and having tried out D114 and now this new, upcoming product I feel they perform exactly the same. When I did my first and only test of the product my car was pretty dirty but not overly dirty where I needed to hit the quarter wash and I ended up going through 3 rinse buckets, so this product is really cleaning things up very well without a doubt. I made up a half gallon as a WW but have yet to try that out but may be doing it this weekend as my car only has light dirty and left overs from cold, kinda hard to explain.
Once this new product hits the market there's going to be a flurry to buy it, so like you said, it has some big shoes to fill for sure but again, IMO, I feel it meet or exceed those who really love D114 and I will be one of those stepping up and getting a gallon myself!
I agree & had the chance to test this an absolutely love it, and I am a fan of ONR, but this cleans better and leaves nothing behind. Check out my review, it just plain works I will buy a gallon as soon as its available without a doubt. Never used D114 but I can't see anything leaving less behind than this product.
I've got about 3/4 gallon of D114 left.
I guess I'm one of the odd men in that I don't think D114 is the best out there. I truly am a WGURW convert after having tried ONR, ONRW&W, and then D114. Based on the reviews here, I am very interested in this new beta RW that Nick announced recently. But, right now it's on to Echo.
So: anyone coming to Cars and Coffee in the spring of 2017 can have some of my D114!![]()

The excitement is mounting. Like I said, if it's anything at all like D114 it will be a home run.
Well weren't you 1 of the people selected to try out the sample? Haven't you tried it??
