Stolen car: Please keep your eyes open

Glad he got the car back. At least it wasn't scraped for parts. Wouldn't be surprised if the person who stole it drove around like a maniac in it.
Hope they catch the culprit.

Good news!

:xyxthumbs:

Yes it is. My buddy suspects that since he only received 1 key from the dealership, that there is a second key floating around which allowed the car to be taken so easily, time for a key reprogram! Also it was reported on another forum (isn't the internet great) that someone saw the car being driven yesterday about 11am.

Nice to hear that mugen civic was found, hate to hear it was damaged though.:props:

Nicee, I'm glad he got his car back and in 1 piece too. :xyxthumbs:

This is such a huge problem here in NY with Honda's :(

A website B20Vtec.Com...... B Series and Beyond - B20vtec.com has a section called the "Stolen Car database" and man is it horrific. 1-2 new threads pop up a day and their all here in NY and NJ.

When I purchased my car brand new I only got one key too. The guy said he would call me if he finds it. 1 week goes by and I see a dude that works in the same performance shop as him on my block (which I've never seen him before drives a 800 HP 2JZ old Toyota sedan) and i pulled up next to him and said what are you doing over here?. He replied his friend lives over here. He never came back after that but I had a feeling he was scoping out to take the car. I now garage the car but that was sketchy.

my friends buddy's built honda got jacked 2 years ago too... right from his house. and his was louder than hell... but no one heard it...

Flatbed.

My friend only received one key from Honda when he purchased the car. He's wondering if the previous owner didn't keep a key and either decided they wanted the car back after about a year, or sold the key for a nice price.. That's of course only speculation.

This seems to be some sort of common dealer practice, for them to keep one of the keys (not every dealer). Sure seems like a recipe for trouble, though.

Good deal! glad he got it back, but a block and half away sounds crazy!! At this point your friend should be more aware and careful! Be lock and loaded!

Glad he got the car back Dave, I assume it needs a detail, count me in for this, I could use some good karma right about now.
