Hello fellow geeks

I just received some TRIX for the post winter cleaning.

All my detailling supplies are stored inside, in a small room in my basement. I noticed a strong smell coming from the TRIX bottle. At first, I left it inside a taped cardboard box and then I added a bag on top but I smell get that chemical smell...

Do you guys have any tricks or tips to store TRIX or any similar iron disolving harsh smelling wheel cleaner/products.

Also, when i am going to be using TRIX, will all my brushes smell this particular smell happilly even after?

Thanks folks!

You will want to wash out anything that touches it or the smell can linger. Always use it in well ventilated areas also. As for indoor storage I can't tell you much other than bag it up maybe multiple bags and only crack them open outdoors. I keep mine stored in the garage in gallons and I disperse it into the bottle as needed with the car pro quick dispenser on the gallons.

Have the same promblem in my work truck with ironx.now I zip lock the bottle.

Thanks for your answers guys, I was thinking of a box that would be airproof, i dont know...

As above, ziplock bag or similar. Even just a bag and a clip to seal it.

Trix is particularly difficult because you can get the smelly component lingering in the oil phase which, because it tends to separate, is especially hard to actually rinse off.
