so in my hysteria state of woooOO, I had a though and have the question out to a few co-workers.

In order to relieve some stress while in the office, I'm trying to decide on which of the following would best help relieve stress. Now, these might be disturbing...

Option 1
A punching bag. Wavemaster big top or BOB. Sand/water/gel mix in the base for 0 mess or slosh. A bit heavy, but will ride in an elevator.

Just whale on it from time to time! Who cares if the person next to you is on an important phone call. The gym cannot wait to relieve this stress, so let a few hits and kicks fly!

Option 2
A CHEAP car... something in the range of $400 or less. Just dependable enough to have a working heater and drive 10 miles before over-heating or needing a few quarts of oil. Something deserving of the personal plate "BEATER".

From time to time, walk up to the car in the parking lot and remove an aluminum baseball bat from the trunk and whale on the car... shouting and yelling in a tongue not understandable by any english or spanish speaking viewer. Dont be afraid to kick in a fender or jump on the hood. Probably best not to break any glass.

There you have it, now vote for Option 1 or Option 2!

we have a punching bag in the office at my job.

i would not go with option 2, as your boss might think you have anger issues, and the next thing you know, you're getting a pink slip and being escorted off the property. Plus, good luck finding a dependable car for $400. LOL

Try putting on some good music. Works for me

I usually just walk around and throw my arms out and yell at random co workers... "what do you want me to do about it.... its not my fault so and so is a moron" they have all come to expect these random outbursts from me so its a good relif because even though the person your yelling at knows its not about them, and they get a good laugh out of it... you still get to yell and its at someone.... and you called the individual a moron .... works well for me, but i work in a factory and we all screw off all day long lol.. and ps im not an angry person

Take a walk or run! see your doctor. Take a deep breath and count to 10. Deal with it, we all had stress and had to deal with it one way or another. You are NOT the only one with this problem, but you are one of the few that can talk about it. That is 50% cure.
My 2 cents from old timer.:props:

I really like #2 but here lately I've been listening to music and it's helped me stay calm and get through the day.

When things start getting stressful I just start singing out loud. Sure people in the office think I've gone crazy but it keeps them out of my office :) ;)

Option 1 but put a picture of someones face that you absolutely despise at work on it.

# 2 could get you in all kinds of trouble (with the boys in blue) if the wrong people see you & report it. BUT it does sound like fun!

Well, when in the Navy, I would usually start yelling at the first lower ranking person that came into view. Now they call that hazing or non-PC.JK
The military probably would be one of the only places that you could work and get away with any of the options listed. My job in the Navy was actually a stress relief at times. Just flying around in a 30 million dollar helicopter checking out the view, or telling a pilot how to fly so he didn't ruin everyone's day.LOL
Now, with detailing being my main source of income/job I usually play with the dog for a stress relief. Funny how dogs can stress you out one minute, and the next, they are keeping me grounded.:)
My friend actually has the Option 2 car. He calls it "the hundred dolloar Honda".:)

A new job maybe?

of the two Id pick option 2. Just sounds fun lol.

I spent 25 years in what many call the most stressful job on the planet. Stress isn't caused by circumstances or environment, it's internal and dependent on your reaction to stimulus and events. If you need a punching bag or to wail on a car with a bat you need to look in the mirror for the cause and possibly change your perspective. Or possibly think about a job change.

When things were headed down the tubes on a radar scope where I couldn't possibly deal with another airplane... and there were 3 or 4 more coming... I just took a deep breath and asked myself what's the worst that could possibly happen? Hey, I'm not in the stinkin' airplane and I never heard of a Control Tower crashing. Always made me relax and feel better. A warped sense of humor never hurts either. :D
