How are you all putting those nice stripes in the carpets? Vac? Brush?

I use my 2" vac attachment. Then you have to have a steady hand. They show up best on dampened or wet mats then allowed to either dry in the sun or by the vehicle's heater with A/C.

Another tip:
Take you hand make sure that all the carpet is smoothed out in one direction. This gives you a fresh palette to start with.

Alright thanks for the tip, I will be trying this later today.

same logic actually applies ... back and forth. The damp part just keeps them noticable longer :p

Yep, you're right killr.

I usually vac the mats first then lightly spray them w/ Meg APC. Next I brush the fibers all the same direction (bottom to top). I then decide on how wide I want the stripes to be, and brush in a straight line (top to bottom) w/ same about of space in between each line. I got a Grout brush from Wal-mart in the home improvement section that works great. It's blue and has very stiff bristles that are about 1.5 inches wide, which is my favorite size for the lines.
