I am looking to try a new sealant on my Wifes SUV and my older Acura.

The paint is in great condition, I might have to do some spot buffing with 105/205 on my wifes car.

But for the sealants on the car right now, my wifes car got a coating of BFWD back in June, a coat of BFCS in August and another coat 3 weeks ago.

The car wash soaps I have are Ironx Snow soap, BF, and Griots.
Whats the safest best way to strip the sealant off?
Ironx then IPA?

IronX isn't supposed to strip protection (wax probably will be stripped but a sealant won't be much affected).
You should use, for example, a mix of Dawn + APC or Shampoo + APC. Or CG CW&G shampoo in a ratio that strips protection. There are lots of possibilities.

There are a lot of ways to do it. But I always use two ways to make sure it's all gone. CG Citrus wash along with Griots Paint Prep, Sonus Auto Surface Cleaner, Eraser, clay, etc... Just don't expect to wash with Dawn and its all gone.

I just go some CarPro Trix. I'm thinking that would wipe it out also, being that it is a tar remover with IRonX.

I wouldn't have enough time to get the citrus wash so I am stuck with what I have. Would M205 or Blackfire Gloss Enhancing polish remove old sealant.

Why not use a paint cleaner OP? That would strip pretty much everything. Something like Wolfgang PPE

The closest I have to a paint cleaner is Blackfire Gloss enhancing polish. I am sure its close the the WPPE.

I just thought of it, I do have amazon prime so I get Griots Paint Prep overnighted to me for $17.00. Might be my only choice, if what I have does not work.

Advance auto sells some
Griots stuff. Worth seeing if one by you ha the paint prep.

Thanks man, hows the arm doing? :props:

It's getting better Thanks!!! I am out of the full cast, in a soft(er) one, and hoepfully within 2-3 weeks, no cast!

Also, if you go with Balckfire GEP, use a little, trust me goes on thin and a little goes a long, long way! If you need advice PM me, I use GEP all the time. You'd be surprised too, it will hide minor swirls too, it's a decent product you really don't hear much about! It's my goto for situations like yours, where I dont need to polsih, but want to clean the car and prep it for the lsp of choice that month! :)

Another note, apply GEP and literally wait like 1 min to wipe off, or else it can be the tiniest bit of a pain to remove. But, really it's not a pain, just wanted to note to not let it sit long, hahahaha sometimes i'll do one section, then go to another, then wipe off the first section, repeat process, seems to work well for me. Also have applied it by hand(recently) and with DA, both methods work good!

I used GEP couple of times when I came out, but I find Blackfire TPnS does the same plus more. But this is the perfect time to use GEP since its a new LSP I am using. I ordered the Griots Paint prep too since its easier to use.

Alko(froum member) has a great review on the Griots Paint Prep! I have it, have never used it yet!

TPnS is good huh? I really like Poorboys PwS as my goto AIO. I should check out blackfire though as I love their line as well!:dblthumb2:

TPNS or DG105 is my only go to AIO.

My daily driver has only seen TPNS for paint cleaning since I have bought it. I think once I used GEP on the hood next to TPnS.

But for my winter prep I will use GEP to insure proper bonding then couple coats of BFWD.

I have a gallon of CG Citrus Wash red and an empty 16oz bottle if you want to buy it from me. Cheaper than full price + overnight shipping.
