Strongest Correcting AIO

My go-tos right now are Griot's Garage Boss Finishing Sealant and McKee's 360. Both products, when combined with a Lake Country orange medium cutting pad and a Flex 3401 or Boss G15, turn out wonderful results. I only have a handful of uses with McKee's 360, so I can't speak too much about it, but the Griot's Boss Finishing Sealant is outstanding. It cuts and finishes extremely well on black paintwork (metallic or otherwise) and leaves lasting protection. It is also extremely easy to remove. I can't get enough of it! :)

Have you ever compared the boss finishing sealant to the McKee 37 jeweling wax? Jeff brown mentioned it as jeweling product once, so got me curious.

I've always had great luck with M66. Cut varies with pad type. White LC polishing, and Tangerine, or Crimson LC Hydros offer a good balance of "correction", and finish.

That being said, I typically use a finishing pad of some type. I'll probably pairing the M66 with Black Buff and Shine pads more this season.

My 3 are XMT360(now McKees 360), Meguiar's D151 Correcting cream, and HD Speed. I generally use each of them on orange pads sometimes white

XMT/McKees - Work it till its gone and there is very little to wipe off, cut is not awesome but pretty good
D151 - Dusts slightly for me sometimes, cuts awesome, Not so bad to wipe off just let it dry a bit
HD Speed - Easiest to work with of the 3, wipes off like a dream, Cut is eahh not as good as XMT/Mckees and no where near D151.

That is my experience with each, I normally do about 20 Camrys a year along with 5 or so Corollas and a couple random cars thrown in. Friend of mine sells used Toyotas for a living and I am his detailer.

acording to autopia chart..wolfgang uber all in one or D151 by meguiar's

you can make a hell of an AIO by adding 25% of poxy bottle to 3/4 of a bottle of AAT rubbing compound

I have not yet tried McKee's 37 Jeweling Wax. Every time it's in my cart I come up with an excuse to remove it. Typically when I two-step a car I finish with M205 and then eventually apply a wax or sealant. I view McKee's Jeweling Wax as a "show car prep" sort of product that aids in getting just a bit more of a uniform and cohesive finish on paintwork that is already in great condition, but then again my opinion is anecdotal. McKee's 360 should provide more cut than Jeweling Wax.

Oh man, I didn't have a chance to check this thread over the weekend and it's 4 pages already. Lol I have to read through but it seems like my best move would be to wait and see how the HD Speed does with the real DA first and then start sorting out these suggestions.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Do any of you AIO experts ever switch half to 3/4 of your way through an AIO polish and switch to a less aggressive pad? Example: first 2/3 section passes with MF cutting pad then switch to a polishing foam pad for the last 2/3 section passes. Call it a 1.5 step polish.

The whole purpose of an AIO is provide a little boost to the shine while focusing on laying down protection in one fast, easy, step. If you going to be switching up pads, it sounds like you are chasing a better finish to the surface and you'd be much better served by using a polish and not an AIO.

Good point Nate! I use HD Speed but have carefully evaluated its top end level of cut. For me, I have a point of demarcation when it comes to swirl and scratch removal and pretty much determine when i have paint that crosses over that line. When that presents itself i go for a higher cut product and then might finish it with Speed. Again, for me, it's all about knowing whats gonna work quicker and dismissing any wasted effort with pushing the correction abilities of an AIO outside of its boundaries and hoping it gets it done. All this is done with my test areas.

That's not to say I haven't pushed HD Speed with a bunch of different pads. I have been impressed with it on a range of paints and a bunch of pad/technique variations but know how far I can take it. Sometimes you have to select something beyond an AIO ONLY if that's what the customer is buying.

I usually just formulate my own aio on large projects only.

How does Meguiars D151 compares to HD Speed, cut, removal, durability and do they fill and cover up alot defect or remove them?

D151 with the right pad combo works great as far as cleaning and moderate correcting on moderately neglected cars and is relatively priced right per gallon.HD speed is more of a light cut polish with exceptional gloss not so with 151.This weekend I have another dreadful single stage white tundra.it has some reflection and not as bad as the others I've detailed.I will be using 151 with a 3401 topped with powerlock.while performing a dial in process speed didn't make a dent as far as removing moderate oxidation.speed is great but everything is relative to a test spot.151 can remove defects and I find it fills a little bit and removal is not back breaking. Both products are totally different in there own way,in my opinion depends what your working on.

Would love to try the new aio from HD but I can't get past the price.

Will the Powerlock bond with D151 as a base and will it affect the durability of Powerlock? Thanks for the reply!
