Stubborn Tire Browning

So something like the Tuff Shine doesn’t significantly darken as it’s applied?

No man, it's clear. I only use that black Turtle Wax stuff on the backs because I always get some on the wheel...with the clear coatings you can't see it.

PS...I'm not the only guy who coats the back of the tire, am I? Even the ones I'm still dressing on the front I use the TW coating on the back to keep them nice until next rotation.

That’s pretty extreme. I’ll clean the back of the tires when they’re off, but I’m not coating that side.

I don’t coat tires but I do dress both sides of mine when I can. I’ll probably be doing it on two of my cars which will be getting new tires. I don’t see it as a big deal. It doesn’t take any longer than the fronts if you can reach them well.

Bingo.

Even tires that are cleaned regularly, then "neglected" for a month or two will get the brown "bloom".

I have found that just a quick scrub followed by a dressing application will take care of it.

And even on my Michelins, Ric!! :poke::laughing::laughing:

This is my approach too, I think sometimes we tend to over think some of this stuff.
