I have tree sap on my car it's one drop about 1/8 of an in in diameter, it's hard as rock. I tried using Turtle Wax T-520A Bug and Tar Remover, it didn't budge. How can i remove this sap or wax without damaging my finish, anyone? Thanks!

Lacquer thinner will safely remove really quick becareful of painted stripes and do not use on rubber or vinyl surfaces,if on glass use razor blade and glass cleaner then wax or seal car.

I would never touch paint with lacquer thinner. But I had good luck with hand sanitizer. Don't really matter which one. spread over let it sit a little and wipe off gently.

Well its a brand new car i don't know if i like the sound of any thinner, but hand sanitizer is worth a shot, should i let it sit for a few minutes? thanks!

Use a razer blade or needle to open up the sap then soak in 'sap remover product' I use a carbrite sap remover product combined with razer blade technique.. Have been successfull for years with this technique and no damage. PM me if you want me to explain in depth!

Hand sanitizer works cause it has isoprophyl alcohol in it. Alcohol by it self work . Any rubbing alcohol from your local rite aid or wherever you buy products from

Let it sit few minutes or however long, till it comes off easy.

Love carbrite products.

With just a dab of thinner on a micro it will melt the sap in 3 seconds and will not damage the paint at all.

Somebody suggested this awhile back on another thread and it works great.
Use a cotton ball or cosmetic pad with IPA on it. Let it sit on the spot for a few minutes and the sap comes right off.

I agree with mantilgh however use it carefully and flush it off the paint as thoroughly as you can when done with it. I am not afraid to use darn near anything to remove the most stubborn deposits but think about what your doing and using and simply work smart.

Mineral spirits, lacquer thinner etc. don't play well with soft plastics, rubber gaskets etc. Keep it off that stuff at all cost but for a hardened, fully cured clearcoat i have no reservations using it and flushing it away FULLY. I also am carefull to isolate its use to just the stuff i'm trying to soften up, break the bond to paint and removing.

Also you can dab a microfiber soaked with IPA until removed.
IPA?

The sap is on the right rear corner panel

The rubbing Alcohol left on for 10 minutes removed it like a charm, thanks a lot Whip, your the man!

x2 on the IPA. I just removed some sap with IPA on a cotton ball. Came off almost instantly. Keep a damp rag handy to wipe off the alcohol. I don't like to leave it sit, especially at high concentrations. But the sap should come off easy. It will strip LSP's. For widespread sap droplets, try a 10-20% IPA solution as a wipe on wipe off product.
