Stuck On New Polisher FLEX/RUPES

We have the Rupes 21, 75, Duetto and Flex. We are getting the Griots BOSS 21 in a few weeks. I find myself always drawn to the Rupes 21 over the Flex. Not sure why.

As far as pads stalling when you apply pressure, well, you don't need to apply much pressure. I did a test spot with my rupes 21 for fun. One section I did with NO pressure. Held it one handed and let it do it's thing. The second I applied as much as I could without stalling it the results were really close. Heavy pressure maybe slightly better. I then did a spot with just the weight of my hand and I couldn't tell the difference between it and heavy.

I hardly ever stall it. Maybe the first few weeks I had it I did but now it's a natural and fluid motion over the different lines of the car. It actually makes me feel like a better detailer because i'm using finesse and not just pulling the trigger and pushing down hard on the pad.

I suggest the Rupes 21 or the BOSS 21. The Duetto I find will stall a little easier. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the Flex.

I use this technique on all my machines. Ever since I put my rotary onto paint, all the way to the 3401, and 7424xp, I've never mashed my pad and went for it. I've always gone for pad rotation, abrasive film, and pad aggressiveness.

I'm probably doing something wrong, but the paints come put great with that technique, and I'm not going through pads at all. Even Cyan Hydros.... yes, I'm getting wear, but they're not falling apart, like some of the horror stories I've seen.
