Sucks to get rear ended!

That does suck. Expensive to repair, or cars with hard to find parts are the worst to have hit. Best of luck.

Wow sucks for something like that to happen. You should keep an eye out for the car if you remember it and first time you see it note the plate and call the cops.

For rdd, since you work in the industry I have a question then about this. So if someone does a hit and run on me, my rates go up if my insurance has to fix it? That's pretty lame. Obviously the person hit would deserve a higher rate if they caused the accident but if you're a hit and run victim that's like adding insult to injury.

Well, I was speaking based off of how things work here in NY, about CA I am not sure. In general, hit and runs are a tough case because you can't prove the driver. What I would do, is I would wait a couple of weeks and say that someone hit your car while it was parked which would create a comprehensive claim, unless you have injuries. If you do sustain injuries, the injuries only would be covered under your "No fault" or PIP (Personal Injury Protection). Comprehesive claims do not raise rates (NY). But, although I work in the industry I do not agree with any of their practices. Insurance policies are one big law based contract. There are so many ways for the insurance companies to wiggle out of paying claims. It's horrible. But yes I agree that the other person should have their rates go up. Which is where the comparative negligence comes into play. Someone is majority at fault, and no one is found (usually) less than 5% at fault because there is always something you could have done to avoid the accident.

I knew I would start to get questions about insurance...:nomore:

LOL thanks for the answer, and yeah no problem about the questions. I only asked that one because it related to the OP. Your suggestion about the OP claiming it was hit in a parking lot could work though. It's on the corner and not too bad so it easily looks like someone could have hit it while backing out and not paying attention. (not that I'm endorsing any kind of potential insurance fraud, just saying lol )

That sucks, and I am sorry.
About a month ago my wife was rear ended and the driver fled the scene. The jackwagon who hit her caused damage to 3 other cars. Our car had to be totalled due to a bent frame. Talk about "hidden damge". Hope it all works out for you. We were forced into getting a new car.

So my deductible is $250, after calling the insurance company, and they are sending an agent to my house Thursday. Depending on how much they are giving me, I might just get a very slick body kit for my car, I have a buddy who does body repair on most high class cars (Benz, bentley, Royce, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc) and he said if my insurance gives me enough, he will do it for real cheap and put a nice body kit on since my side skirts are all torn up and my bumper is all effed up.

There is also no undercarriage damage what so ever, just body panels are wrecked.

So this accident actually worked out for me in the long stretch! :D

So excited!

Love it when a plan comes together!

i think i would have chased after him and tried to kill him, such a nice car its a shame when an idiot does something like this.

So I actually meant Tuesday is when the insurance agent is coming. And great news! They are giving me a huge chunk of cash. Like way too much for some reason. And my buddy says he will only need a fourth of what they are offering. So the other $1000+ goes towards detailing supplies and other basic necessities!

I'm really happy! :D

Thats whats up!!!! Did you pick out a body kit? Make sure you post pics of it when its done. Oh...and post your unpacking pics too since you're about to pick some stuff up lol! Looks like it all worked out for you

likely an uninsured motorist .... none the less it stinks !

I'm look at the G-Style body kit for the g35 or the K-Style. They both give the car a very nice head turning look. :D

What's weird is one of my neighbors (who I don't know) with a black G35 pulled in after work today with a dent right in the same spot. At first I thought it was you because it looked like the exact same dent! I went out for a walk and got a closer look but the dent appears to be smaller. That would have been pretty cool to have a detailing fanatic as a neighbor!

Haha you got my hopes up until I read the end! Dang it!
