Suggestion for Mars Red SL550

Thanks for the suggestions and the reminders. As several of you have said, the top coat is just to protect the finish that you create. After thinking about it, here is my plan for Saturday.

Wash the car.
Clay bar the car (third time in 2 months so should be quick)
Dry the car
Polish the car with Menzerna Final Polish
Glaze with Menzerna Finishing Glaze
Wax with Collinite 845

One question. I usually use CG Honeydew in a foam gun to wash. Any reason to use Dawn or will the clay bar and polishing remove the wax that is on the car?

Thanks.

The claying and polishing should remove the LSP you have. Although CG Honeydew as you already know, definitely will not remove it.

OTOH a quick Dawn wash would certainly strip it down if you wanted to do it last.

Thanks. I may use a little Klasse AIO prior to the Collinite which I would think would remove anything that is left if there is any.

If you use KAIO I'd follow up in 12 hours with KHGSG they're called the Klasse twins for a reason. Use them together. Add a third layer and get nice candy apple shine with that red paint.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did the car a few weeks ago. The paint correction required more work than I expected, but it turned out well. I did put on the KAIO followed by 2 coats of Collinite 845. It is raining today and the car seems to be doing a good job of repelling the water.

I am going to strip it down within the month and go with 22ple VX1 Pro. I am a serial detailer.
