Suggestions for a new compound for me

I think I would like to order/try out a different compound for heavy defect removal.

I have been using Optimum Compound II. My machine is Rupes Duetto and use LC flat pads. No specific vehicles, just general use for customers if needed.

I like how well Compound II works and the great finish it leaves, but I don't like the dusting and I doesn't seem to have a long working time.

I dont have all that much experience, so I often question whether it is somewhat user error. Am I using too much, too little, cleaning my pad enough, or is this just the nature of the product are questions I'm asking myself when I use it.

Are there compounds out there that have a buffing cycle like a nice polish does, or is this just not possible because removed paint/cc interferes with the working time?

I would like one with high cut, but finishes good. I understand that most likely with the higher the cut, the higher possibly of needing to polish afterwards.

So what should it be?

Fg400, Fast Correction Cream, BF SRC, Advanced Compound, Uber Compound?

Or should I just stick with Compound II and learn how to use it better?
 
Get the Fast Correcting Cream. It'll make you feel like you're living in 2016. Lol
 
Another vote for Fast Correcting Cream... after going through 5 of the 16 oz bottles last year, I finally just started buying it in gallons. I haven't really touched my M101, D300, FG400, etc since we got hooked on FCC.
 
Thanks. I was kinda leaning towards the FCC, I forgot I got a couple of sample packets of the Correction Cream which has less cut. Maybe I play with that a little.

Another though was McKee's Fast Compound because I've heard it has a long working time but it is also supposed to be lower on the chart.

Ha! Yeah, that's what I want.

I also wonder about Optimum Hyper Compound, I don't hear too much about it.

I wish they'd update Comp II, I really like how Polish II and Poli-Seal work.
 
Another vote for the boss creams from me. The work time is virtually endless imo. All the creams finish down very nice as well. I use the microfiber and Fcc combo and the da haze is minimal when compared to others. Try the sample packs you have it will give you a idea of the work time of the creams to me they are all pretty similar in that manner. Hope you find what your looking for
 
Boss creams all the way.

If you have all 4 in your arsenal you can handle anything.

Soft paint, hard paint, moderate defects, severe defects, one step , two steps one and a half steps.

I have been using fast correcting cream since last year of July and it is all I use. And all I need.
 
BF SRC, Pinnacle, and Griots are all fantastic. I must say the Griots dusts the least, and doesn't murder a pad as much. It's truly is state of the art.

I read a lot of people complaining about the cut and finish of hyper compound.

The boss pads are nice come in a 2 pack in a nice sealed bag as well. They are not bad for the momey at all i must say. The entire boss system is very good quality. I think the polosher is a little less impressive than the rupes but it does hold its ground and the warranty is rather nice in case of failure.
 
Fast Correcting Cream is really something special in my experience. It finishes well, doesn't smell like industrial solvents (like Wolfgang Uber Compound and Menzerna FG400) and dusts minimally. It works extremely well with a Boss G15 and the Boss microfiber cutting pad.

I also use Fast Correcting Cream with a Flex 3401 and an orange Lake Country cutting pad. At high speeds the compound will eventually "explode" beneath the pad and shoot big, dried up granules of product all over whatever surface you're working on, but at speed four or lower it doesn't seem disintegrate so dramatically. Mixing Fast Correcting Cream with Meguiar's M205 significantly reduces this effect.

Correcting Cream (not the "fast" variety) works well too, but I always have difficulty removing it even after many section passes.

Christmas is coming up and i may treat myself to these... :)
 
Thanks everyone for recommending GG's Fast Correcting Cream! It is lovely to work with!

Like most have said, it has a nice long working time, seems to cut and finish well, smells nice, and doesn't really dust. I did have it dust some using with a foamed wool pad, but I think I may have used to much though or I should have changed the pad out. Was just doing some spot correction with it before an AIO.

It really seems to work well with their BOSS Microfiber pad. These microfiber pads are also very nice and like someone else has said, they don't seem to get matted down like some others do.

Now I just the gallon of it to go on sale.

Another vote for Griot's Boss Creams. Gets the job done quick and +1 for smelling good =D
 
I been thinking of trying fast correcting cream and also really want to try flattop from shine supply.
