Suggestions for my Mercedes Dream Car

Thanks for that suggestion wing commander. I have heard great things about Wolfgang products and I am a user of their Uber rinseless and Spritz - both very, very good. What all these products will have to compete with is my go-to Sonax Polymer Net Shield topped with Brilliant Shine. They are not the easiest to use (unlike the Wolfgang Spritz which is a snap) but they seem to be made for German white cars.

I am cataloging all these suggestions so that in the spring I will order a few of them and do a real a/b/c test on the car. My goal is to find the best product/system for this Diamond White Mercedes paint. I know of course that will never happen as there will always be something new coming out I will just have to try - but it will be fun trying!!!

I just put PNS on my daughters white Altima a week or so ago, and topped it with Brilliant Shine a few days later. This is just PNS prior to Brilliant Shine.

It looks great too! How do you compare the Polish Angel system with PNS?

Okay, the suggestions I have received for my Mercedes Diamond White paint have all been recorded and I hope, in time, to try most of them. The first suggestion was given by custmsprty who recommended some Polish Angel products. So, I decided to try them first. I just ordered two products I think will work with my paint very well - Snow White Carnaubaflockencreme and one of their very newest products - High Gloss spray.

The Snow White's description seems to have been built for my paint and protection is shown as a year. As I said previously, I really like Wolfgang Spritz for ease of use, good shine and acts as a sort of hybrid, ie, bridging both a stand alone sealant and QD "topper". The PA High Gloss spray description shows it to be almost exactly in the same category as the Spritz but with even more emphasis on gloss which is what I am really looking for.

I hope that an application of Snow White which will protect for a year, followed by periodic applications of the High Gloss enhancer will give me the results I am looking for. I may do half the car initially to compare it with my Sonax system. This won't be done for a couple months but when I finish I will post photos and a review. Then, it will be on to try something else!!

Sounds great love the sonax line.fyi you can spend 1000.00 on various products to try and there all pretty much the same with a exception of a few that may be different. Those few you will have to convince yourself that in fact they are different.some products are either harder or easier to work with, that the difference you will notice in buying multiple stuff.Good luck and wax on and have fun.

You're right GSKR, and believe me that over the years my spending $1000 on car care products is on the short side! The more expensive the car I buy the more money goes to its care - it is an obvious and logical extension. And it seems I buy more and more expensive cars with each new purchase.

You are also correct that most of the top name detailing products produce excellent results and I've tried most of them at one point or another. Some are easier to put on and take off, some add a candy apple look while others produce a rich, deeper shine. My years with Duragloss for example were fun and I loved that gleam of their 111, ditto Collinite 845. Then I went with Griot's Premium Paste Wax and also Optimum Spray Wax, both of which caught my fancy with the depth of their gloss, producing a richness that suddenly made 111 and the other Duragloss sealants to look antiseptic and sterile. I liked that "rich" look for a long time until I tried Sonax, which impressed me with its great protection over a long period but also produced a nice glow that really made the "diamonds" in my diamond white paint stand out. Now, I am into trying a "reflective" look for this paint, for lack of a better term. It's like porn - I can't really describe it but I'll know it when I see it!!

Well, I could no longer stand it. I got my beautiful 2017 Mercedes CLS 550 in a couple months ago and immediately detailed it with Sonax Polymer Net Shield topped with Brilliant Shine. I was very pleased, as I have always been with this combo on other "Diamond White" Mercedes I have owned. This is my favorite MB color although it is always a pricey option. Trying to up the game I went with Polish Angel Snow White and High Gloss. I had no intention of using PA until after the New Year since my Sonax was still doing pretty well but I could not resist. I washed the car but did not need to even use my favorite chemical polish, P21S Paintwork Cleanser let alone clay again - the paint was in perfect condition and I could see no reason to remove what might have been left of the Sonax.

I applied the Snow White to the whole car (by hand with Griot`s red pad) except for half the hood to compare it to NPS. Frankly, there was little difference in looks although the PA side was very, very smooth - like silk. I then applied High Gloss to everything and it went better with the Snow White than the PNS - this time I could see a nice improvement on the hood side which had the Snow White. I did a second coat on the NPS side and the two finally blended in well enough not to tell a difference. I did a small test area on a lower panel with an extra coat of HG but could see no improvement so one coat was enough over the Snow White.

The application of both High Gloss and Snow White could not have been easier. I have always had a little trouble with NPS and BS in that no matter what towel, sponge or method I used they were a bit "grabby" both to put on and take off. The performance and looks with Sonax were great but the car never felt as smooth as with this PA combo. Like I said, it looks and feels like silk.

Is the rather slight improvement in looks with PA worth the money? Probably not but I like the ease of application and smoothness and who cares about a couple hundred bucks when you bought a car like this! I will always try other things as I am an experimenter at heart but right now the PA Snow White topped by High Gloss is numero uno! The pictures to follow are all inside as it was raining cats and dogs out here today. Accordingly, they do not do a tenth justice to what the CLS looks like in person. In a few months I will do it again (one more time before trying something else), this time using the P21S prep and follow up with outdoor sun pictures. Forgot to mention that I let Snow White cure 12 hours before applying High Gloss. I am not sure if this is necessary but it never hurts.

i dont know whites kinda tough, i put two coats of souveran on a new white truck and i could barley even tell it was on there.
