Howdy, today as I left the office I noticed it was a windy day and a lot of dirt/debris flying around. Looking at my truck I noticed the driver side windows looked as if they were sand blasted, the surface of the glass was rough and small specks all over. Luckily enough the paint did not suffer any damage. So the question is what can I do to get my windows smooth and clear again. I am thinking of clay bar but I figure the experts on the forum might have a few suggestions. I appreciate the help and also a FYI I am a complete novice to detailing (more of a new hobby) so please be gentle and thorough explanations are greatly appreciated. Cheers!

So your saying after you cleaned the window it felt rough? Resembled rough like sand?

You can use normal clay bar on windows without a problem.. they also make a clay bar specifically for glass.

Clean Windows
Spray Lube
Clay Bar
Wipe Excess product
Coat

I have not use a dedicated window sealant or wax. Last time i did window on my car i used Menzerna Power Lock.

Sounds like you might need to pick up some CarPro glass polishing pads and some Ceriglass. this will be much more effective than a foam pad and compound.
If you go this route make sure you get the CarPro pads. Some of the others will leave small scratches behind.

Thanks and yes after I cleaned the glass it was rough, and looking through the glass you can see specks. I'll have to look into menzerna power lock.
