Yeah, that's one that rings all the alarm bells in my technician brain. Depending on which car I'm working on, that would be a transmission control module, phone module, or airbag impact sensor getting flushed down the drain; also a strong chance of wicking into the electrical harness. And then there's the soaked foam with no ventilation...

I have watched his videos in the past, some of those mini vans are unbelievable!! I don't feel so bad our family Odyssey after seeing some of the vehicle Felipe has too clean.

I had not seen the 'slosh' videos before but there is no mistaking he gets results on carpets that would make me throw my hands up. I guess it's a bit of a toss up on how much damage that degreaser can do to other components....but at some point it looks as if many of those carpets had some sort of other gunk sloshing around that created the stains in the first place.

Ya I did a car last week that was really bad kinda like whats in his videos. I had him in mind. Now I did get the carpets pretty dang wet but not that wet. I sparyed folex and APC .. then used a bucket of water with Fabric clean in it and used a tire brush to wet the carpet. Ya they were wet but not sloshing like that.

lots of brown suds that I vacuumed up and then used a terry towel to go over the carpet. That seemed like it did pretty good too.

Hi remove centre console and seats and the kick plates remove carpet then water blast the carpet i have done this many times on carpets that are worse then that. allow carpet to dry for 3 days then reinstall. if your seats have airbags disconect the battery wait 10 min then unplug the airbag sensor. BUT DO NOT TURN THE CAR ON AT ALL OTHERWISE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WILL BE ON. when its time to put your seats back in plug airbag plug in reconnect battery wait 10 minutes then you can start your car.
also with your carpet removed you might also want to add some sound proofing foam.

Funny to see this thread as I started the thread over on the other site. 2 main issues with his process. One being the amount of fluid dumped into the carpet. Already discussed.

2nd being the lack of any rinsing to remove the chemical from the carpet. Sure he says he "drys" it. But nobody can get a carpet completely dry with a shop vac and towels. There's always some residual moisture that just needs to air dry. That moisture being purple power. Here's a cut out from the SDS of purple power...

I don't know about you, but I have 3 kids under 6. I would never want my kids to crawl into a car/van/SUV that has the above substance still dried and crusted on it.

You can rave all you want about how he gets the job done. It's getting the job done properly that makes you a good detailer. I can remove bugs from your bumper with a sand blaster. It'll get the job done better than anything you've ever seen. Doesn't make it an ok thing to use though
