1964 Mustang
This car belongs to the owner one of the shops I work for. The owner bought this to resale it and wanted it to look its best for the client that bought the vehicle. The paint was filled with swirl marks and all the chrome was pitted. I performed a 2 step correction on this vehicle. First I used the Flex Light Weight Rotary with 5’’ LC Flat Orange pad and M105 fallowed by Griot Garage DA with 5’’ LC Flat Orange pad and M105. I topped it off with Sully’s Detailing Liquid Wax,

I'm assuming this was a re-paint at some point? I'm guessing because the after picture of the door sill/jamb area looks nasty, like someone painted over body filler and even an area where paint flaked off.

Well done! I had the pleasure of detailing one a few years ago as well. Mike is correct -they are fun to polish!

Fabulous work and restoring a classic to a pristine condition. The before and after photos are well done and I like some of the angles you took that really show how much work when into this...

It looks better but it is far from pristine condition. Looks like a 20ft car to me.

Overall, some very nice work indeed. You forgot to do the black parts on the side of the A/C unit inside. I think that Meguiar's #40 would have done wonders to bring that black plastic and hose going into the floorboard back to a rick black again, instead of that dingy dirty look. Did you use Simichrome on the chrome? Could that outside mirror have been polished a little more? It looks like there was still a little oxidation around the pits. It's hard to tell in the pics, but I've been polishing old chrome since I was 6 years old, and in my experience, old chrome can be made to look a little better, but it takes about a half hour or so on the mirror, maybe a whole hour, by hand. It's very time consuming. You can't make the pits go away, though.

The paint on that car, and the overall outside looks great!

Thanks Guys, the car was repainted in 1992 before the shop got a hold of the vehicle. The paint job was pretty bad with runs here and there and alot of orange peel in some areas. This wasnt a full detail to be exact because the the shop owner bought the car and sold it the next day, he just wanted it to look good. That is way i didnt finish down with M205 and a white pad and I didnt do all the rubbero n the interior of the vehicle, plus I was working within his bugget. I only had 11 hours to work on the vehicle. The mirriors are pitted there is nothing you can do about that. The rims, bumpers, mirriors, ect really need to be re chromed he just wanted me to get them shinny for the owner
