2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII (Single Stage White)
This car has been at one of the shops I detail at for about 8 months of so, it was getting built/tuned. Being that the vehicle was outside for most of the time and getting pushed in and out of the garage the single stage paint soaked up the grease and oil off the mechanics hands. The vehicle was also pretty oxidized. They wanted to give the cars its shine back before giving it back to the owner so they wanted me to perform a 1-step polish and wax.
Process:
Wash: Poorboy’s Worlds Super Slick and Suds
Clay: DP
Clay Lube: DP Rinseless Wash and Gloss
Polish: Poorboy’s World SSR2
Machine: Griot Garage DA
Pads: Lake Country Tangerine Hydro Pad (Polish) and Flat Blue Finishing Pad (Wax)
Wax: Sully’s Detailing Liquid Wax

What kind of (grease) monkey goes palming a trunk lid with a hand full of grime like that? I've worked with a lot of technicians, so they don't always (and not all are like this) come off as the brightest bunch, but that right there is unacceptable. It's even a white car for crying out loud. Although those red shop towels are the last thing I'd use to care for my paint, they could have at least used those to avoid all of the oil and grease from baking into the paint.

Okay, I feel better now. You did a great job in cleaning up after those pigs. Hopefully it runs as well as it looks!

Wow! Impressive turnover. I wonder if a degreaser would have done any good. Did it take the SSR to remove the grease?

single stage paint? i had no idea...

and what the hell is up with those wheels, are they carbon or something? it looks like it says dymag which is a moto wheel company...weird.

Being the car was there so long most of it was dirt that was on the paint that got imbedded into it when pushing the car. Some of it was grease but most of it was dirt.

Thanks, I used SSR2 after i clayed the vehicle to remove the oxidation and the rest of dirt and other things that was in the paint.

The 2003 and 2004 white EVO VIII are single stage. When the owner purchased the vehicle the rims came with it. They are carbon fiber wheels. THe company that made them went out of business and another company bought them. The gel coat or clear coat they used on top of the carbon to protect it is coming off. The company that bought the original rim campany that made these wheels has offered to fit the rims.

Great job. The car was in pretty awful condition detail wise.

The rims do not fit the car imho as well but thats just my opinion.

I am sure the owner is happy.

Did you just do one step correction because the owner just wanted to pay for it or did you think SSR2 was lsp ready?

Man, so many Evo's. Can I just have one? haha. Nice job like usual, that thing was caked.

I like the style of the wheel but I think it would look better if they were black. Looks good for just a wash and wax. :xyxthumbs:

Possibly. Or a metal gray with a bit of luster.
Not a fan of colored wheels at all.

Also not a fan of how low the car is.

Thanks Guys. The owner wanted to bring the shine back to the vehilce and getting it looking as good as it runs. The rims are begin replaced by the company with new ones. SSR2 left some slight marring on the paint but that is ok because it was just a 1 step polish not a full correction.

Very nice turnaround!

Amazing what these guys who work on cars will do to the vehicles..

When a vehicle is at the shop for a long period of time and it collects sirt on it it bound to get hand print ect on the paint from moving the vehicle. This shop owner make sure the cars look just as they did when they leave. Whether it a wash or a 1-step polish hell pay for it to keep his clients happy alot shops wont do that

Yea, that is very nice of the shop to give the cars a full detail before the customer pics it up. I knew many shops that would return the car with a quick wipe down and make things worse for the paint. Then again, those shops were not to great with their work either.
