Alrighty, so second run with CQUK. First was the family truckster, a jet black Mazda CX9. Today it's my VW (Black Magic Pearl GTI). I did opticoat 2.0 last year and honestly, although the shine was great, I wasn't impressed at all with the durability. I have been maintaining it with optimum wax and reload, always looks alright but after a really tough Iowa winter, it looked pretty rough (swirls and micro marring). So I corrected the paint, polished the paint (with eraser in between) and did a double coat of CQUK. I know, I know, you don't need 2 coats, but I had a bunch left and at the chance it'd look better, I couldn't resist. Here's what I learned on my second vehicle with CQUK, TWO words - Microfiber Suede! again let me say, Microfiber Suede! I had a real tough time with my first round of CQUK (with my wife's SUV) and I determined it was because I wasn't using the microfiber suede towels to remove it. I also used 4 applicators per coat, that also made a huge difference! Lastly, I removed it in a more timely manner than opti-coat. With opticoat, I would do 2 panels at a a time, then remove. With CQUK, I do panel by panel. Overall, with the right towels and technique this application a breeze! I left it in my garage today and took my motorcycle to work to "cure" and came home and she looks amazing!! Enough of my chit chat, here's the pics!
