Thats funny. My African Grey Parrot thinks he's the boss and he's always telling the other birds what to do.

No he don't say "WASSUUUUUUPPPPP" when I walk in becuase no one ever says it around him. If he heard it he would say it. He not only says about everything he hears but he also understands what a lot of things mean. This morning he was telling me he wanted mangos and grapes for breakfest but he only got papaya and grapes. If my other birds get noicey he tells them to shut up by their names. For instance I have another bird name Gator. If Gator gets noicey he will tell him "Shut up Gator you're going to go to time out". We don't try to teach him anything. He just picks it up and understands what a lot of it means. It's a good thing my wife and I don't swear around the house.

Wow, that is an impressive bird. And they say chimps are smart? Chimps are just copying what they see, they don't understand what they are doing. (according to my professors)

That's so cool! That's one smart bird. I hope you do teach him to say "WASSUUUUUP" that would be hilarious. lol. There is a mockingbird that lives by my house and it imitates cats meowing, the chirping of car alarms, sirens it's so funny.

I saw a documentary about an african grey parrot who's owner was a professor. She taught the bird how to count and do addition and subtraction, what the different colors and shapes were, what different matter was like wood vs plastic. It was really amazing. It's unbelievable how smart thery are.

My african grey bird does sounds too. He can bark just like my neighbor's dog. Unless it's cold like today I usually keep my birds out on the linai. He does a water bubbling sound that he picks up from the pool. It's really funny. I know someone who has a bird that does the phone ringing and she's always picking up the phone when it was the bird. My african grey can whistle some songs too. One of my other birds likes to sing and dance at the same time. My wife sings to him and get him going. It's really funny.

I know how you feel about the birds bombing your car. One of my neighbors is a crazy lady that feeds the seagulls. The city passed an ordinance against feeding seagulls just because of her and she still does it. All the neighbors really dislike her (I'm being nice).
My one bird dancing more like this :awesome: and this Im the MAN combined. He walks around bobbing his head all around while singing.

Oh that's so cute! I love when they dance. Too funny. That really stinks about your neighbor. I don't know why people do that stuff. Here where I live we are overrun with feral cats because of a neighbor that always feeds them. It's like they come from all over the city to her house. It's crazy. The association has told her over and over to stop feeding the cats but she does it anyway.

We used to have neighbors who always fought and cursed at each other. The guy had a huge parrot/bird thing whatever lol, it picked up on the language so even when the family wasn't home the bird would just start cursing. They put him outside on the porch one day and for hours all you'd here was f' that f' this and quite a few other nasty words lol.

Oh my gosh!! lol I shouldn't laugh. That's really sad that the neighbors carry on like that, but the mental picture I have of this bird cussing like a sailor. Oh my gosh! I can picture it wearing a little white cap with an anchor on it and with a cigarette in it's beak. lol Ay, I think I watched too many Popeye cartoons growing up. :p

They seperated at one point and I went over there as the husband was a big hobby type guy and into custom R/C cars etc. So went over there one day to show him the truck I just built, this is years ago, bird just started saying sh!t over and over lol, but in that Parrot voice that makes it even funnier.

OMG, a bird like that in my home would be a disaster. If they pick up what they hear, that bird would be saying !#*"; you no good #*!"; . and more. :D

Well that's what made me crack up when I read your story. Because I could imagine it in my head with that parrot voice. But it is truly sad that your neighbors fought so much. Are they still together?

This was years ago and as far as I know I don't know if they even got divorced, we had moved (still in Boca). She had left that one time with the daugter, he was normal, she was a nut job lol.

If the bird was cussing like a sailor, I can just imagine how traumatized the little girl must have been by their relationship. So sad. :(
