Hey Mike, i am finally getting the cyclo brushes this week.
I plan on machine scrubbing my tires and apply the tuf shine coating.

I was wondering since i will be using a GG 6" polisher wight the brush, i will have to rinse the brush after each section since that is what tuf shine suggests, so you won't be spreading the silicone like back on the tire surface.

Do i just rinse the brush with it still attached to the machine?
I am afraid the water might mess up the polisher?

That's the best way otherwise you risk re-contaminating the tires.

First of all, make sure you're plugged into a GFI power outlet or get a GFI circuit breaker. I can take a picture of the one I use if you like.

Next, if it were me, I wouldn't rinse the brush after each cleaning. Kind of dangerous and to remove the brush would be too time consuming.

What I did when I cleaned some greasy tires in the below project was to clean/scrub tire by machine and then rinse tire.

THEN

Do a quicky wash of the tire and a hand held brush and either a tire cleaner or a car wash soap as at this time all you're trying to do is remove any remaining trace residues.


Take my word for it... this actually works pretty good and you will be amazed at how clean the tires are.


If you want to clean your tires in the most AR way, then you'll have to get all complicated and to be safe, remove the brush after cleaning a tire and wash it with soapy water. Then re-attach it and clean the next tire.

Not too much time or work but that's how you would do it.

I just go for pretty good and then do a REALLY thorough job.



Let us know how it goes.... I'll be putting a fresh coat of TUF Shine on my truck tires this week before heading to the Saint Luci Mud Jam. I expect my tires to clean up with nothing but a strong blast of water when I get back.

Or if you have a Shurhold DA, I believe they come with the ground interrupter-thingee built into the cord. I'm guessing because the polisher is meant for boats - and boats are often around water.

Fyi, dont apply in 20 degree weather, the results are not pretty...
