I probably stretched it out a bit longer than I should, but I finally bit the bullet and mounted my winter tire set-up this weekend. This weekend brought two annual milestones at the same time. The first: swapping out my summer tires. The second: Resorting to touchless washes and dealing with a perpetually dirty car.

The forecasts say highs hit the 50's occasionally, but when the lows are in the upper 20's and the sun sets at 4:30-ish, it doesn't hit that high for very long...if at all. I finally came to grips with the season and went into vehicular, "cold mode".

My winter set up went on the other weekend as well. A full month later than usual which was nice.
I have to deal with hitting the pressure washers just to keep the salt at bay. Winter is great but sucks at the same time.

My snowshoes went on a week ago. Yet I still managed to wash the car today. But I think from now until March I'll probably have a gray car instead of blue.

Huh yes the worst part of the year for me, thank God I have a heated garage to wash when I need to.

I did mine a few days after Halloween and hated the thought of snow, salt and frigid temps. It was a bit early as we’ve lucked out in Chicago so far, but driving a small Miata I wasn’t willing to take any chances!

My ws80s went on our Odyssey Saturday and put the WinterContact si on the Accord Wednesday

Got the wife's winter wheels and tires on standby for the first sign of snow. Usually go on around Thanksgiving time unless there is some early winter weather. Her all seasons can handle a bit of the white stuff if I'm a little behind on mounting them up!

Just swapped out my Jeep tires and wheels last weekend. It's so depressing to see my JKU with smaller tires. Good news is that they are all prepped and coated and ready for spring !!!

The horror!!! I don't know what I'm going to do this winter... I might have to put the roof up if the temps continue to drop down into the 60's and 70's... :)

Too funny.

All things considered, I'd rather trudge through the winter than have to live through your summers!

I swapped to my factory wheels with DWS06's in mid October. They aren't near as grippy as full summer tires, but it sure beats spinning everywhere in the cold.
