I was walking across the parking lot this morning and came across someone's handy work. For the most part I "try" not to look at every car but this ones black and was sitting alone seemingly waiting for me to pass by...

Out came the iPhone and a couple of shots to start your Monday off on the right foot.

The entire car looks like this but the low morning sun makes the side much more noticeable.

Ahhh - it burns! xD When I see cars like that I'm always tempted to leave my card under the wiper...but somehow I always run out of business cards by the time I do see one sitting around xD Oh the irony... Thanks for sharing!

I saw something similar this weekend, was in the parking lot and some black, 4-door passenger car had so many swirls it looked like someone washed it with an SOS pad or a handful of gravel.

Cars like these are good for picture to show others what swirls look like but in most cases it would be pointless to work on one or even talk to the owner about how to undo the damage because they don't care. That's why the paint is in the condition it is ing...

There are exceptions, like person buys a used car that's swirled out and wants to fix it up...

:)

I'm wondering if someone just washed and went straight to buffing with a rotary....:dunno:

Sort of reminds me of the days when I didn't inhale.......

I've never really approached someone about their car but lately, I've been "Sizing" a vehicle to see how I would tackle a project like yours.

I think what you proposed is a good idea. I know as Mike pointed out the some may just not care but I wonder how many would care if they knew that their car could give off a great reflection.

in the last picture, the holograms look like a 60 and a 20. lol

Like was said, the car owner may not know. This owner may thing it looks good that "buffing" mark, shows a shining finish. But I bet he also puts catsup on his steak.

Knowing BMW, that option is part of their new Performance Package 3, which includes rock chips in the front bumper and buffer holograms to make it look like the owner is too busy racing to care about such frivolous things like "perfect paint". It also costs $7500 and you need to buy the 26" wheels with the hyper extreme performance spring tires that are not suitable for winter, summer, or fall.

Thanks, Bobby, now I have no reason to show off how awesome the finish turned out on the 3-step I did on this Audi; you did it for me!! I take pride in my work. :D

Thats pretty bad, about as bad as a newish F150 in our lot. Still nothing compares to this Acura RL i saw at the mall a few months back, the paint looked like it had airbrushed arcs painted all over it from the rotary damage. Those RLs arent cheap either.

^Not sure what you're on about, but I see an Audi.

Touché--I got fooled by the door crease. I should know about Audi--my wife drives a Q5. Pricing for this option is quite similar at Audi though :dblthumb2:

Do you have a card? Your work speaks for itself :buffing:

Nah, I just spell out my company name and phone number in halograms on the doors. Nothing like having moving billboards all over town!

This could start a new thread, random bad paint....my apartment complex is full of them! At night, under the lights, O---M---G !

That picture reminds me of a coworker of mine that bought a one year old RAV-4 a month ago. Looked great the first week. Then it rained and she had it washed a few times. Now, every day, I see the horrible holograms all over it. Whoever "detailed" it had fists of ham and a hell of a lot of glaze.
