This is the car that I had posted that was coming to me with bad swirls and in addition it had been compounded twice after trying to correct the problem. I was apprehensive with this job as I had no way of knowing how much clear was left. I was definitely going to take the least aggresive method and move up slowly. It turned out that my magic elixir (106ff) came to the party big time and eliminated the swirls on the first run. OMG I just love Menzerna products!!! Anyway, here's the process for this one. I was very happy with the results, especially how the flake popped on it..it was a beautiful colour.;) I even had a PDR guy come by and pop out 2 dents. They were impossible to access, so he had to use the glue gun. The results were good. The closeup shot of the dent is from just behind the passenger door and you can see by the after shot of the area that it's gone.
You can also see a shot of the rain gutter above the door where the last guy burned through the paint..he did this on both sides!! I had the customer bring me touch up paint for those spots and others.

The Process:
Wash and bug removal
Wheels got about an hour's worth of attention, even behind the spokes
Clay with claymagic
Chrome exhaust tips polished with blue magic
Paint touch up and wet sand where necessary
106ff complete, Rotary application with white ccs pad
RMG applied by hand, Rotary removal with gray ccs pad
FMJ applied/removed by hand
Collinite 476 applied/removed by hand
Wheels done by hand with XMT 360
Tires with Megs endurance
Interior shampoo'd and vac'd
Interior surfaces treated with 303
Glass with IG

Very nice. What was the clear coat toughness?

I would rate their CC toughness at medium, max. I did one and I really enjoyed detailing it

Softer then Ford paint?

Supercharged: Thanks!

D & D: I would rate it as soft, although I don't know how it would compare to Ford's.

ehuth1: Thanks man!!

Awesome turn around!! The flakes are REALLY poppin now!

Wow, very nice. You can see where the time with the wheels paid off.

Ford is medium, and from this thread it looks like the Z is probably soft. Do you know what year this was?

richy: SUPER JOB!.....I'm still in a learning curve on the Menzerna line, but their products are 1st rate.

Great work Sir!

Great job! The car came out great, after two bad detailers. Poor thing has been raped!

Awesome job! That Z is shining, and great reflections. Love this close-up of the paint and flakes. How much did the PDR cost?

Very nice work there richy, man vehicle looks incredable. Such reflect and the flakes look incredable.

But this picture of the rims, man looks great. Rims really do make a difference on the apperance of the vehicle.

Well done, turned out to be a great job richy.

Rrey 05: Thanks a lot! The RMG is what made the flakes pop like crazy.

07ImpalaSS: Thanks...started to buy..what'da end up getting?

Jimmie..Thanks man..I've said it before..the wheels are so important for setting the car off. These are easy to get behind too, which makes it a lot easier.

D & D: I think it was a 2000. That was the build date on the door plate.

Totoland: Thank you sir. With the results you've been getting, it's hard to imagine there's any room for improvement using a different product. Having said that, I am absolutely sold on Menzerna's stuff though.

Gary: Thanks you.

Pirex: You're right..I felt bad for the owner when I saw the burned away sections. Obviously an amateur job...that's not the car to learn on..too many curves.

alban61: Thanks a bunch. The PDR cost me $50. for the 2 spots and he worked on them for just short of an hour. I don't mark it up at all..I'm happy to be able to offer the service and it makes the car look that much better when it's done.

Nica..Thanks bud...coming from a guy who's as OCD as me ;)..that's a compliment!

Joe p..thank you.
