I just got a 2008 toyota and there are swirls from bumper to bumper. What is the best product and pads to use? And I am going to use a Porter Cable 7424 XP Dual Action Orbital Polisher.

Welcome jetwave!!!

There's a ton of information on the forum already in regards to what pads/polishes/polishers etc that everyone uses.

It's tough to say which one will work best for you because every car has different needs. It's always best to try a test spot with the LEAST AGGRESSIVE METHOD (I hope I don't get charged with copyright infringement from Mike Phillips :))If that doesnt work step up to a more aggressive pad and cut combo.

A really popular combination on the forums are the "Megs twins." Typically M105 on an orange LC pad followed up by M205 on a white LC pad... that's one of my favorites to use.

Any pictures of the vehicle by chance?

I don't have any pictures and it raining right now. The swirls are not real bad most of them are real light.

Hello and welcome to Autogeek!

If they are just light swirls try M205 and an orange pad first on speed 5 or 6.
M105 may not be necessary if they are just light swirls. Always start with the least aggressive method first.

When you get ready to start, do a Test Spot first, that is test out your pad, product and process/technique to one small area and see if you can remove the swirls to this one small area before going over the entire car.

The best way to do a test spot is with a tape-line on a flat or horizontal panel, working on just one side of the tape line will make it real easy for your eyes to see the progress you're making as compared to how the paint originally started out.
