Well... not a car, a truck.

Here is my truck now:

2013 Silverado z714x4. currently 15k miles after receiving it I demolded it, de-badged the tailgate, new wheels from "14 Silverado only thing not shown in the pics above is the 4.5 inch stainless steel tip I put on my tail pipe. Not really relevant but I changed the Transfer case fluid with Amsoil ATF and the front differential with RP Max Gear recently.

Also note that Ive had a few issues with it all covered under warranty. Rear end replaced a few months ago, Its been in the dealer twice now for Power steering pump leak/issues. I think its fixed now though.

So here is what Ive been eyeballing the past 2 months...

2014 GMC Sierra 1500 for sale in Wichita - 3GTU2UEC6EG491960 - Scholfield Buick GMC

Its very similarly optioned I think it may have a few extra options. My truck has leather, the GMC has cloth seats. I like the new GM trucks and they ride real nice. I can't make up my dam mind.

What do you geeks think? All opinions welcome and considered!

oh... I also owe about $21k on my current truck so I believe I'll have some equity... I also work at a company that gets a "discount" on all GM vehicles so IDK if they can combine that with the discounts already applied.

Well if it was me I would wait(hopefully a she) loved you after all the modification work you done and you even stuck there with her when she had her recent problems and you don't own much on it so I would keep her pay her off then in lets say 5 years buy a another one cause GM(no violation) keeps the same looks on there trucks for a while(years) with few/little modification so youll still get that 2014 truck but it may be a 2019 one or something

You might be into restoring a truck? Such as,

Is the: "up to" 60 months @ 0% interest still available?
If so: will they roll your outstanding loan into the 0%?

I think so but I prefer to finance @ 72 months to keep my monthly payments lower. Its just something I've always done.

Wait for the 2015 F150s

I've thought about it BUT Im not overly excited about the new body style and aesthetics.

I do like how its going to be lighter, better MPG's and I'm pretty sure with the 5.0 that truck is going to scoot with the lighter body and if they offer 3.73 or lower rear.

I wish but no, not enough time or resources right now. Plus my wife would kill me.

72 month financing is almost always a bad idea, unless you can get a zero or near zero interest rate. Then, it's basically free money. Otherwise it's a recipe for negative equity due to depreciation rate exceeding loan pay down. Check on Kelley blue book or edmunds.com to see what 5 year depreciation or percentage is estimated to be on that truck, and look at a basic amortization table online with your estimated loan terms and see how the deal might look down the road.

You have a brand new beautiful truck, just keep it and spend more making it to your liking.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Pay it off, save up for your next truck in cash, and buy it then.

Sounds like a great idea if you like being buried in payments. Cars today can go 200-300k miles if properly looked after with the correct maintenance. The real goal IMHO is to take care of it, keep it looking nice - then pay it off and drive for free.

I never understood trading a car that is a year or two old in for a new car. Would you trade in a washing machine or a TV in after a year or two for a new model?

washing machine? No Tv? Maybe. Depends on what kind of deal i can get it for.

Im usually good with money but I love to have new vehicles. Except trading in my 2010 camaro ss when they first came out for a pristine low mileage 02 z06 wasn't exactly new but I had no regrets.

On the flip side, I bet its nice to not have any car payment. I wouldn't know. I traded in that Corvette for the truck I have now. Talk about change.

Actually my 98 z28 was paid for but it was racking up the miles at the time...

The more vehicles you own, the smaller your retirement will be...and the happier your bank will be.
