Hey what kind of tape do you guys use? I need something that is flexable and will stick. My polisher will rip most of them off so i want something that will stay(emblems being the main problem with tape stickin).

Also, after polish and sealent, ive gotten a few places were you can tell i rubbed off the residue and i see little shinny trails. Is there a wax to stop that?

I went to a store that sells painting supplies to body shops, and got some 3M Scotch 233+ tape.

I have used the blue painters tape (made by 3M) and have not had any problems. You can pick it up at Lowe's, Home Depot, to name a couple of places.

painters tape too .... it also comes in green if you prefer (smiles)

I buy the green painters tape from one of the home centers. Noticed your comment about the tape getting ripped off by your machine. I can't say that problem has ever happened to my taped areas, but on the other hand, I felt it was just to guard from accidently overlaping the trim and such when your working close to those areas, not running your buffer completly over those spots. Just my .02, I could be wrong:D

Yup, that is the same stuff I use. It works great if you tuck it down in areas that you have the ability to do that. Like on roof trim, for example. I like it because I can cut it with my thumbnail if I have to when I wrap emblems. I always use tape if I'm working on a car with any clear bra type films on them. Cleaning that stuff out is way more trouble than simply taping it off is... I've never had a problem with the blue painters tape coming up with the polisher either.
