Target Drying Towels?

Indeed. If this is all you can afford, go for it. Vroom towels aren't bad, really.

There's only one problem you should be aware of: lint.

I bought a large pack of the orange Vroom towels a long time ago (when I started on my "detailing" journey), and they worked ok. However, it wasn't until after I used it on my glass that I realized, in horror, the sheer amount of tiny orange lint it left everywhere!

You won't really notice it on paint, but on glass and on interior surfaces, you will.

I now use my Vroom towels for engine bay, wheel, wheel well, and possible underbody duty.

If you can't afford quality towels like Cobra, that's fine. I didn't spend that much money at the beginning either.

If you want to use the Vroom towel, I say, go ahead and test it and see if you like it (if its *good enough*). For the glass, go ahead and go to Wal-Mart and pick up their MF waffle weaves (white, two to a pack, $2.96). They work surprisingly well and can even be used on paint, but nothing really compares to a quality waffle weave on glass. I still like my Cobra waffle weaves for glass, but the Wal-Mart ones are nothing to complain about, either.

I just got some of Adamspolishes.com ww drying towel. I am amazed after using only one to dry my Suburban. These work great, my only ww so far. Had to wring it out a couple times, but that's Ok. They are only 9.95, they also have a larger one that should work as well, it appears to be the same material.

I use the Cobra Extreme Guzzler on my 3/4 Dodge and never have to wring it out. I can dry the entire truck with one Guzzler, it's the best thing ever.

The Vroom's... when I first bought them, they were soft. After about 4 to 6 months, I started to see some marring. I narrowed it down to the Vroom's - based on the pattern and length of the scratch. I then noticed that the once soft Vroom's turned stiffer. I bit the bullet and upgraded my towels. I spent another 4 hours on the PC taking out all the swirls. Hopefully, with good technique and great products, I will have minimized the potential for marring, spiderwebs, etc...

I drive a 95 Thunderbird. 4.6L works for me. Hopefully soon I will be getting a new car. And yes, detailing is pretty expensive... you always want to try new products... supplies. It is endless. I am in the process of finding my "go-to" products and I am going to try to stick to them as much as possible. The foam gun is a nice tool, but it definitely isn't NECESSARY. I would rather you have a guzzler + wax/sealant than a foam gun.
What do you drive?

i love my 94 in the process of aquiring a 98 LSC
