Tarminator Damage

I think I really messed up my wheel wells.

Our White 03 Suburban got taken down a freshly tarred and pee gravel street.....it was a mess to say the least.

The wheel well were a mess so I tried Stoner Tarminator on the front wheel wells....worked real good with no damage.

So I went ahead and used it on the rear wells and they came out looking like this.








I cleaned them it with apc + with no luck.

I cleaned them real good with car wash soap and applied Optimum Tire and Trim Guard +

It shined them up good but still can see the damage under it.

Ill see what they look like in a couple days.

I don't know what to clean them with or how to get rid of the caulk look.
 
Sorry to hear! So the white chalkiness only appeared on the rear wells but not the front? Is that right?

Perhaps a different APC would help? I've had nice luck cleaning up trim with Detailer’s Pro Series Cleanse-All Exterior Cleaner agitated with a tire brush. It comes as a free sample if you wanted to give that a try next time you place an order.

Pretty Please.....if you are going to paint these

Remove them from the vehicle first.


Take a lot of before and after pics. I don't recall this specific wheel well painting project documented on AGO
 
Painting them would be a quick, cheap, easy fix, but if it were me I would simply replace them. Wheel well liners are cheap and readily available (especially for a GM truck).

Once you get the new ones, coat them with Ultima Tire & Trim Guard and they'll look fantastic. :dblthumb2:

Exactly what I was thinking.

I would be a little concerned that the paint wouldn't stick...and that would be a big mess.

I'm getting new ones. :xyxthumbs:

Just wanted to give a heads up about Tarminator.....it works good but it is a Strong cleaner.
