Well I got my TDS Meter today, TDS-EZ

In the kitchen, we have a water filter system. The reading on that was 24ppm. The tap water from the sink was 158ppm. And the water coming out of my hose using the Total Filter Kit was 153ppm.

Now I bought that filter last year, however, I left for school in August. So I really have no idea how many washes Ive done with it. But I stuck the filter in the bucket with the rejuvenating tablets tonight (for the first time ever), so well see what the new readings are tomorrow.

OOOH! I'll be anxious to see those results. Have never charged mine either, but i'm still getting fair results after a few months.

Intersting, I look forward to the results as I'm considering purhcasing a filter for washing my vehicles and other vehicles as well.

after the resins are recharged..run your water for a few minutes than take a reading.....that way the recharge residue will be rinsed out and then you should get a better reading....

AL

Thats Al, I was thinking of doing that.

Well I let the water run for about 2 min. and took a reading. It was 168ppm. Im going out of town this weekend, but Im going to try it again on Sunday or Monday and let it run for at least 5 min.

New reading is 170 and only getting worse. I guess its time for a new filter or resin refill.

Got the resin refill and did got some more readings. Without the filter the TDS is 188, with the filter its 177. So it doesnt look like the filter is doing much.

I may have mist it but what kind of filter is it?

I think the only way you will lower the TDS significantly is to use a DI filter cartridge. Water softeners will not cut it when you are using anything more than .5 gpm.

Yeah, looks like it. Im looking into the DI system Bubbabuff just posted.

Total Filter Kit And Im just using the water softener filter.

Yea I had my doubts on these types of filters, I looked at some of them here in town and after speaking with some people that know about filters they didn't say many good things about filters like these. Good to know though.

Thanks for sharing.

Just tested 4 different bottles of Deer Park. Got 55, 52, 137, and 87.
