My first detail ever was a '92 Lexus. Took me 5 hours, I charged $50. Never again!

 what $50 really...wow...your cheap bro. When you say "detail" did you do interior and exterior? I'm assuming so...man I'm sure you learned quick huh.

It was my first paid detail and the guy put me on the spot. He asked me how much to detail it (outside only) and I just came back with $50. Little did I know. I did a great job on it though and he later approached me to do his Land Rover. Too bad I wasn't available that weekend, could have made some money...

Wow $50! You are too nice! My rule is always a minimum of $15/hr. Yes, I am just starting out, but the attention to detail I do/perform is why the price is where it at...it will be higher once I get better. WhiteThunder...from the amazing work you do and from what I have seen you should be able to easily get $200-250 for mid to full sized vehicles (full details). Whatever you do...Do NOT...I repeat...DO NOT...under price and low ball yourself. Just my .02! Thoughts?

Yea, the normal price for this as of now would be $210, but since this is family, I'm happy with $100.

fair price is always a subjective thing...for me family is free...friends - no more than 150 bucks even for a big suv (but they get one round of polishing and thats it hahaha..and they will be lucky if i do the roof)...for clients $200+ but they get perfection...but during the "rainy season" in socal i am lucky to be able to get someone to pay me 30 bucks for a wash and wax...

Yes, now friends and family are a different story! Definitely discounts apply to them. Especially when they hook you up as well with other things and what not!
