Techniques Drying Off Car

AMMO Hydrate and a damp Micro fiber towel. Uses the water that's on the car during the drying process to both shine and revitalizes the wax that's already on the car.

So do you sheet with the hose and then dry with the Ammo
hydrate? Not any blotting or? Feed back please. :buffing:

Anyone using distilled water as final rinse and then just air drying? I thought I might experiment with using some jugs of distilled water from the grocery store.

This is by far my favorite way. But, I use the CR Spotless for the final rinse, followed by the Master Blaster. 100% touch free drying and the car is DRY.

You don't get water running out all over the place when you move the car. You can also easily dry the barrels of the wheels. If some water does run out, it's DI water - so it doesn't really spot anyway.

^ me too, it's kinda fun to blow out the lug nuts with the blaster, the water comes out like a smoke ring. At 300 mph. But no more drying swirls!

yea go ahead and sheet the car. then the little water left over can be used with Hydrate. You gotta have some water on there, but there should be enough left even after sheeting.

I live in Heavily regulated California so sheeting is out of the question. As for drying I use the Blaster Sidekick and WW MF Towel. After the car is dry; I will finish with either of these 3 (no preference in which is better as all are fine by me): Blackfire Wet Diamond Spray or Optimum Spray wax or Duragloss Aquawax. It just depends on the mood I am for any of these 3

Why would sheeting be out of the question in California?

Just add a cut off valve to the end of your hose.
They are cheap and available at Home Depot.

Sheeting of water, Black and Decker 240/180 mph, 385 cfm electric leaf blower, touch up with Meguiar's waffle weave microfiber towel, light coat of Meguiar's Quick Wax (most of the time).

Just learned about the rinseless wash today and may give it a try soon.

Sheeting method then blot with a Mother's drying towel and final wipe with a MFT WW with ECO Touch waterless or a QD.

done it all and the latest method that is most efficient for me is electric blower for the wheels/tires and Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy for the paint. that's it.

no drying aid, no blower, no chasing droplets...no sheeting/flooding.

just touch the towel to the panels and the water is gone. no wringing or anything. it's weird.

that's the way I've been doing it for 2 years. WW lightly touches the coated panels but I have yet to see any scratches.

Question I have is: if you have an electric blower why not use it on the painted surfaces?

Are you guys using your drying towels wet or dry...by wet I mean rung out and damp? I've always found that a wet MF towel drys and absorbs more water than a bone dry towel.

What is CR spotless?sry still new to this game!!!

because that requires extra steps :)

it's hitting the car with the blower whilst walking around the car...then going back around to hit it with a towel to zap the little droplets that remain. some people add a drying aid into that step. and before all of that, it's usually more expeditious to flood the car so the blower has an easier job. so that could be yet another step to consider.

with the DMC towel, you just rinse the soap off without any real concern for how you do it and then dry with the DMC...and rather quickly, i might add!

i use the leaf blower on the whole car and the less you touch it, the less potential to install any kind of marring/scratching is reduced. everyone has their own way of doing things and you got to do what works for you, that's all that matter...

Do you wipe down twice? ? After I wipe detail wax, I buff it with dry towel to remove all streaks. I wish this step could be eliminated

I have found that my waffle weave towels are marring the paint, do I have switched to the gold plush microfiber that I saw Mike use once and it works great it's super plush and holds water well

I hope you tested your ww towel on a CD (prior to using it on your car) with a spritz of water, then test it dry with no water.

Which ww mfg did you use that marred your paint?
