as long as they are not using bricks instead of sponges...it should be fine. people that wash their cars at those type of places dont give a crap about swirls anyway...

last car wash i stopped at to give a donation (no, they didn't touch my car), I noticed they were using Palmolive Dish Soap and large yellow sponges like a grout sponge. At least their hands were soft afterward, but the cars probably came out like garbage. Though the people that will get their cars washed that way probably don't care at all.
I think that the most important thing at these type of car washes is to have a meeting before hand to plan the event out so you don't have people just running all over the place doing everything out of order. I say forget the grit guards and what towels hit the ground etc. etc. and just concentrate on having an orderly car wash where the cars get washed from top to bottom without missing a bunch of spots and rinsed in time before the soap dries on the car. The people who frequent these types of washes have no clue what a swirl is.
