This reminds me of a story....
Back in Toledo in the early 90's there was a big push from the local paper to get new subscribers, and they were going door to door asking people to sign up.

They came to my door and asked....."Are you receiving the Toledo Blade Sir"?
I said..."Not anymore"
They said.."May I ask the reason"?
I said..."Because I don't have anymore fish to wrap....have a nice day"
 
I’m old enough to remember that 50+ years ago cleaning glass and mirrors with newspaper was the norm

Both my mom and our maid did it

I tried it maybe 10-15 years ago on our house windows and it was a disaster

I couldn’t figure out what was wrong and did a bit of research

What I uncovered was that when newspapers started doing color printing, the basic makeup of the paper and the way it was finished during production had to change to accommodate the new colored inks

I have no reason to doubt this info but as always, YMMV

Chilly - I too thought I remembered something about newspapers changing and no longer working like they used to. My poor memory thought it was “Something something something soy based inks”, but it’s been so long I don’t recall the specifics.
 
I’ll be the outlier then.

I’ve almost never been more pleased with a (relatively) cheap product than I am with Corey’s “Streak Free Fast Glass Cleaning Cloths.” I buy the big pack and moisten them with deionized water. I use them all before throwing them in the washer alone with an ounce of Micro Restore (and two ounces of vinegar in the rinse). I easily get ten uses per cloth (prolly more like 20). Short of steaming, nothing else cuts windshield film as easily.

That jogged my memory and yup, the change was due to soy based inks

I do like and use the ZAP CLOTH.

Car pro glass mitt is not bad either.

Glass! UGH. One difficult area to get spotless.
 
My issue is always fighting hazing on glass. It drives me nuts. The Zap cloth is in my arsenal of glass cloths. It’s a struggle for me to remove haze. It must be the Florida air.

I have always wondered if the amount of hazing, especially on the windshield, is directly related to the interior protection products we use

It’s kind of hard to believe the vinyl on the dash on my 2008 4Runner is still “out gassing”, yet that’s what frequently gets the blame for hazing

My hazing issue is on the exterior mostly. I really think it's due to the air here

I absolutely agree. As such, I never use any interior dressings on my own vehicles. Meg's Quick Interior Detailer is the only product my interior ever sees and my windows stay clean for what seems like forever.

Again, I agree with this too. Living in Southern California, anytime I drive along the coast my vehicles (truck and/or motorcycle) get coated with a film. I assume it's the salt humidity in the air causing the hazing. And it's not only the glass... The hazing is also very noticeable on chrome, and since all of my vehicles are black, the paint also.

Yup, that Megs product is good stuff

But I also feel like I need to “feed” the interior a couple of times a year to keep it from drying out and cracking so I’ll give it a good going over with 303

But then you get to the “well, the next time you wipe it down with Megs or Express or whatever you just strip the 303” point of view

My Lexus dash is fragile as hell and luckily has been garaged a lot of its life

I have put 303 on it once and the rest of the time it’s just a wipe down

I’m conflicted

I completely understand. My vehicles are always garaged. If they sat outside more often, I'd have to consider some type of protectant.

My 4Runner has spent its entire life outside and the interior vinyl looks amazing and I feel that’s due to 303

I used the hell out of it on my 2 motorhomes as well for seals and dash and tires and stuff

Yes I believe so, but I get them when I order other CarPro stuff from Corey, a 10-pack for like $25 or so.
