I got myself an early Xmas present & bought a Flex 3401. Using it for the first time I decided to do some testing. First I switched to the smaller backing plate for 5.5" pads. I have alot more of those than 6.5" since I currently use a 7424.

I got to use it on an 06 Buick Lacrosse. Looks like somebody had attempted to buff it before as they left a trail so to speak.
I started on the trunk and as usual half way down the left side I thought about taking pics. (Watch it, genius at work.)

The goal was to make it look respectable, not perfect as it's a dealer car. On this side I used 105/205 w/ LC CCS orange & white respectively. Settings were at 5-6 for 105 & 3-4 for 205. Being new to the Flex & pretty new to using 105/205 I was adjusting the speeds as I went.

Was going for a better shot of the doors.

For the right I used XMT 360 w/ a green ccs pad. Speed was at 5-6. While it didn't remove the swirls entirely, it came better than I thought it was going to. And for a dealer car it was fine.

The Flex was very impressive as soon as I started using it. Smooth, quieter, powerful operation. Took a few minutes to get the feel for it but after that it was like we were old friends. :) I really liked the speed control trigger.

Next time I'll try the 360 w/ an orange pad. And of course I have to try it w/ Megs mf system even though some have said it doesn't work well.

Sure looks better than started. With some practice and learning the right pad/polish combos your should be able to get them even better.

Be real careful laying your polisher down so that the pad touches the ground. It can pick up small pebbles in the pad. If you run it on the surface with a stone in the pad you will scratch the puddin out of the paint.

Good start.
