Story...

Got a call while working last week. I missed the call, so I called back later on. When I called back, the lady said she had an '05 Ford F-150, and needed the interior detailed, BUT, she already had a mobile detailer from a few towns over, going to her house to take care of it. I said thank you for calling, and told her if I can do anything for her down the road, to not hesitate to call me.
Fast Forward.....
I get a call over the weekend from the lady. She wanted to know if I could do her Ford. I was out of state, so I scheduled it for today.
Curious, I asked if the other detailer was a no-show. She said he showed up, but did VERY BAD job.:D
She mentioned that the guy left the car a mess. Didn't vac under the seats, slung some GREASY dressing all over the interior, and messed up the seats and carpet.
When I say messed up the carpet, I mean it was bleached out. The seats were still stained up, and you can tell where he tried to clean. I asked if he used a carpet extractor, steamer, or any other type of machine, and she said he did NOT. She said he used a scrub brush, rag, and a bottle of DEGREASER. Yes, degreaser....on the carpets and seats.
Very sad.
Of coarse, she did not pay for the service. She said she told him she is not paying him and he asked why. Told him because it was worse than before. Apparently, he got defensive and ticked off. She said she would pay him for the gas, and he said "keep your f***ing money and don't ever call me again". She said that is what he said, then threw his stuff in his truck a blew out of there.

I guess this sort of goes along the lines of the previous thread I made..."Lying Cheating Detailers". LOL
Needless to say, I went out today, and she was happy. Said she has a Mustang that needs done soon. Granted, I could not get the 'bleaching" fixed, or a few spots that screwed up the seats. I told her she should call him back and try to get new carpet if it was him that messed it up...

I will upload the pictures in a while when my Wife gets home. Camera in the truck....

The rear seat was still damp. I had to go over it 3 times with the extractor.

She came out every 10 minutes to check my work, and I do not blame her. Should have taken more afters. The dirty floor mat came clean, but not perfect. Maybe a 7 out of 10. She said he left them out of the car. Said they were wet and to not put them back in for a day, or they would mold... hahahahaha

the drivers side rear floor mat was missing. She said it was there before this guy detailed the car, and is now missing. I dunno....lol

Nice save Chris....looks like the extractor is really paying for it self.....can not believe a guy did that bad of a job...he should be black balled.....

she must be happy she called you....I bet he ruined the other mat and took it...lol....

AL

The previous work was pretty sad. I would be really upset about the seat.

Chris again I am glad you get some of these calls and not me!! Dude for a second I thought you were going to say my name!! By the way, who was it? Platinum? or abe?

LMAO
PM sent

you picked up where he dropped the ball..his misfortune was your gain...

Good Job

That was scarey to think that it had already been worked on. It's easy to see why she was happy when you finished.

hahah yea.
He must have opened the door and then closed it and called it a detail....lol

Did you say he used a bottle of degreaser, a scrub brush, and a rag?
This is just horrible. Somepeople, I tell ya, some people...

I did my best. Everybody has to start somewhere......You should have seen it before I started on it. Ok, not me. Nice turn around though!!!!!

I'm almost afraid to use degreaser around the wheel because of overspray going onto the body and this guy use it on fabric!

Nice job! Lets hope the other guy quit detailing ;) What kind of extractro do you use?

WOW, I can't believe the nerve of that hack. It makes me upset just thinking about it. I can't imagine doing that kind of damage to a customers car. The degreaser on the interior definitely tops it off, but who wouldn't even sweep under the seats?

She's lucky she found you. You turned that interior around big time! Fantastic work!

Looks good. Judging by your before which are the other guys after that vehicle must have been trashed. As for the other "detailer", when someone lacks the equipment, knowledge and skill they should at least know their limitations.

I use a Mytee HP60

The "other guy" has an ad in the phone book which states he has more than 10 years of experience....
