When I first showed my GF the 3401, she said "oh my god... You polish paint with that? It looks like a beast!"

No lie.

She had no way of knowing that's what we call it.

You enjoy that thing. Once you polish with a machine, you'll never want to polish by hand - ever again.

One of the things I liked best about the 3401 was how smooth and quiet it was, how powerful, and predictable it was.

I got rid of mine, but I'll be picking one up again soon.

Be sure to lubricate the felt ring before use and when reinstalling the backing plate tighten the bolt down till firm.

Also don't mix up the bolts and washers that hold the factory backing plate and the Lake Country Backing Plate Adapter Kit. The bolts are different lengths and it's crucial to use the correct bolt for the backing plate being used.
