A while back I was on this thread

Remove swirls scratches by machine in Vinyl Stripes Decals Graphics Corvette

and asked a few questions,

Hey Mike, in this video you used the Pixie, Rupes soft foam finishing pad and Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish.

Mike Phillips - Vinyl Graphics - Removing Swirls by...

I'm assuming this is the fist pad and product combo you used on your test spot as this seems to be a very gentle combo.

Is that the Speedmaster Swirlfinder Light? I just ordered the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish. I noticed I only ordered an 8 ounce bottle. Is that enough to get around a whole car? If not I've got time to order another.

Not only is it a great how to article that I highly recommend you check out but Mike also got in to contact with me.

He wanted to make sure I was squared away with enough of the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing polish to complete my project, and explained that he had some extra polish available.

We talked for a bit more and let me just say that Mike is one  dude. One thing I remember is he asked me what type of car I was working on. A Pontiac G8 GXP.

I could tell that he genuinely cared about me achieving the best results of my project and he took the time to give me some extra advice as well as he explained how amazing the abrasive technology is with the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish.

He then obtained my address and a few days later a package arrived.

At this point I was very excited!!!

I opened the box and inside and to my surprise was a signed copy of Mikes Book!
Mike Phillips' The Complete Guide to a Show Car Shine Paperback Book

I love that! "Keep on shining!" To me that also means, don't give up.

I love the book and the polish!

Mike, I can't even begin to express my gratitude. You have truly set me up for success as the book is an interactive learning tool. The book paired with the forum is the ultimate at home study guide for a guy like me, and I find it truly amazing that you take the time to answer questions and teach here on the forum.

With these resources I will never be lost and I can always create my best.

Thank you so much and I hope that one day I get the opportunity to return the blessing to you!

That is awesome, Jacob. :)

Mike is a very cool dude, and he does indeed care about seeing people succeed. (Just check out one of his detail classes. You see young & old, male & female, doesn't matter.)

When I first got that book, I must have read it cover-to-cover at least 5-6 times in a row.

There is no YouTube influencer with a book like that......:poke::laughing:

Having Mike P, plus all of the great guys & girls here on AGO makes this a pretty damn cool place to be. IMO.

My guess is the book will fall apart after about the 6th or 7th read-through. :D

To be honest, I appreciate everyone on this forum, including all the lurkers that visit here to get information each day, but what I really like is when someone joins with a true passion to learn, better themselves and as a result - better those around them.

You have true passion for the craft of detailing and the art of polishing paint and I can relate.

Plus - you've taken the time to invest into yourself in the area of learning how to work with pictures on the Internet. It's not that hard but most people simply won't invest a little time to learn the same "few things" I taught myself and you have now taught yourself. I will admit that it is easiest and best done from an actual computer, either a laptop or a desktop. And I get it most people on on a phone or tablet. It is what it is.

Learning how to work with pictures on the Internet is a valuable skill that will compliment your detailing skills. Heck take you writing ability to a higher level and you can take over my job. :xyxthumbs:

Enjoy the book and enjoy the polish. The polish is expensive but it's also very good.

:)

This is awesome, couldn’t have said it better myself guys!

An amazing forum full of great people, moderators and knowledge! Everybody helps and encourages and rarely is there ever negativity or questioning individuals.

Jacob, you’ve offered a lot to the forum in only a few short months, glad to see you receive this gift!

This is how I fixed that bad binding problem on Mike's book.

A three ring binder and sheet protectors. Stays open and should last for a long, long time. Makes using book an absolute pleasure.

Nice. :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for sharing. I'm impressed you had the patience to place each page into the sheet protectors - that would take a little while.

Thank you so much for the kind words and compliments Mike!

I'm gaining so much knowelege from the book and I used my small bottle of polish on a scratch repair the other day.

It is AMAZING stuff and I was able to blow my customer away! Worth every penny IMO.

I'm doing the same with mine as the pages come out. Your right. Maybe they should just sell the book like that in some type of heavy duty binder.

They can call it TCGTASCS Heavy Duty Field Manual.

I think if the publisher put the book together using plastic comb bindings it would be a big plus.

From a picture of some of his books laid out on a table that I seen it looks like he has used it before.

Thanks brother! I feel really at home here on the forum and I'm continually learning so much! I feel totally immersed in this art thanks to the forum and the book. As I tell others I'm never lost because of the forum, and my friends here.

I'm always happy to see you pop up on my radar!
