hey guys just got back from a work trip and the whole time i was in the hotel, i was reading thread after thread off auto-geek and how to's by mike.p himself. i don't know if there is a thread on the forum but i personally like to thank AG and mike.p for the website and everything they have done. hands down this site has to have EVERYTHING on how to detail a car and i mean EVERYTHING. Mike has made a thread for about everything you need to know and learn about making a show room car finish. once again like i said i don't know if there is a thread already but this is me writing to you guys for running a great company hands down. you guys are truly the meaning of customer service.

Its pretty amazing that he puts all of his knowledge out there for everyone at no cost, and he's always on the forums answering peoples questions (including me)

If it weren't for AutoGeek I'd still be waxing with Turtle Wax and washing my car with joy soap:bash:
AG puts a lot of effort, resources, and expense into this forum and it very much appreciated!
from Max and mike P. To Meghan, Nick and Penny Customer service is not taken lightly. Max has built a team that shares his same views.
Then you have all the really cool forum members who spend a lot of time and effort to do product reviews, and help people they do not even know through their problems. Thanks to all of them too!:applause:
This truly is a really cool, fun place that anyone who makes an effort can learn a ton on car care for FREE!:awesome:
So I like to say Thank You as well and will continue to support the AG family as much as I can!

Great thread. Thanks a lot to mike and the whole crew. I have learned so much and went from washing with dawn four years ago, to last summer making an extra 2000 dollars detailing. I very much appreciate it.

I love this site and AG. Thanks to everyone here. I learn a lot here and what I can't learn searching has been answer through chats or calls. Many thanks from Utah

Yes - Thank you ALL! Without the knowledge passed around here, I wouldn't have had the knowledge or confidence to talk to my clients about their issues with their rides - AG has been a library for me and I appreciate every individual that has helped build this community. Thank you ALL!

I am, and always have been, in absolute amazement at both his knowledge and more so his PASSION - they are two different things. Also, his ability to explain and describe is second to none in this industry, and THAT'S what it's all about.

I truly hope he's having a blast living the dream making a great career out of something he loves - as always since your days at Meg's, to now, and WELL into the future Mike, I appreciate all you do! :)

Yes thank you. I have learned a lot over the last several months. And thanks to AG an this forum I now have about $1500 in detailing supplies in my cabinet

I think it is some kinda scam/cult

I love AG and I read a lot of everything on this site and it has helped me so much I want to think everyone at AG and everyone on the site , I LOVE YOU ALL without you guys and girls I don't know what I would have done or where I would be with my cars now so thank you very much for everyone's time. Life changing I look at my vehicles in a whole new light. Thank you all :) great thread.

I agree with everything said. I always thought I had a good idea of what I was doing cleaning my cars however the amount of knowledge I've gained from this forum is unbelievable. The friendliness of the AGO team as well as the forum members is top notch and sets the standard for how a business and a forum should operate. Never are you turned away or ridiculed and you can ask a question and get a solid answer that not only offers a product suggestion, but the best way to get the results you're looking to achieve. This is a great place to be and with that, thanks to the whole AGO family!

He's probably been thanked more than our cars have been detailed, but one more can't hurt. And much like detailing, he deserves every bit of it!

Mike's just one of us, someone passionate about detailing because it's preserving a costly and prized possession, your vehicle.

I for one don't understand how someone can let their car go to the point that it's filthy inside and out.

If you think reading the threads and watching the videos is a great resource, sign up for Boot Camp and see that Mike is also a great hands on teacher. You can learn a lot from reading and watching but there is no substitute for having Mike watch over your shoulder and tell you what you are doing right or wrong. Great experience and I highly recommend it.

Who is Mike Phillips?? JK

I have been reading Mikes stuff for a long time on MOL... Mike = :urtheman::urtheman:

Hi tj,

On behalf of Max, everyone here at Autogeek and myself, thank you for your kind words. Max is a great guy and an even better "Boss" and there are a lot of cool perks that go with working for Autogeek in specific and in the "Car Industry" in general but the best perk of all is to know you've helped someone reach their goals.

Its pretty amazing that he puts all of his knowledge out there for everyone at no cost, and he's always on the forums answering peoples questions (including me)

There is a cost, that is Max hired me away from Meguiar's to provide the education portion of everything Autogeek does in this industry and the good news is it's all win/win and that's the only way to do business.

Then you have all the really cool forum members who spend a lot of time and effort to do product reviews, and help people they do not even know through their problems. Thanks to all of them too! :applause:

I'll second you on the above. This forum has great forum members always willing to help others and this is a positive reflection on them and their character. It's really hard to find a forum of any topic where there's so much depth of knowledge and teamwork plus a family friendly environment which is not the norm for so many other forums.

Great thread. Thanks a lot to mike and the whole crew. I have learned so much and went from washing with dawn four years ago, to last summer making an extra 2000 dollars detailing. I very much appreciate it.

Cha Ching! $$$

And the portion I made bold above means we're hitting the mark.

Yes - Thank you ALL! Without the knowledge passed around here, I wouldn't have had the knowledge or confidence to talk to my clients about their issues with their rides - AG has been a library for me and I appreciate every individual that has helped build this community. Thank you ALL!

And thank you! You're one of the stellar forum members that makes this forum the success it is...

Gee thank you very much... and for the record, it is about the passion for me... I live, eat and breathe cars and car detailing and I NEVER forget my roots. I also recognize that there's always going to be bumps in the road but I'm in this for the long run so I practice taking the high road and leave the mud wrestling for others...

Yes thank you. I have learned a lot over the last several months. And thanks to AG an this forum I now have about $1500 in detailing supplies in my cabinet

It's all good man... no bad...

Life changing I look at my vehicles in a whole new light.

Thank you all :)

Thank you for being a part of the whole...

Well said and accurate. Thank you.

Mike's just one of us, someone passionate about detailing because it's preserving a costly and prized possession, your vehicle.

I'm pretty transparent on the forum because I don't have anything to hide. I like all cars, heck I even like old Nash Metropolitans and they are the definition of ugly.

But if the people that are into them like them then I like them to and my goal is the same no matter what the car... help others get what they want... and have some fun along the way...

Thanks Robert, it's been a genuine pleasure having you attend our classes here plus getting to know you in person via the forum and the classes.

Thank you.

And to your point, I've seen people come and go in the forum world but one thing for sure... a person's posting history stays behind forever to either help others or reveal their true character no matter what forum they post to..

My goal is to leave behind a posting history that always helps people...

The below is something I read from Zig Ziglar when I first went to work for Meguiar's and my first boss Jack Birkby gave me a set of tape from Zig Ziglar. I would listen to them as I drove to body shops, dealerships, detail shops and PBE stores and this one particular quote always stuck with me...

"You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want"

-Zig Ziglar

It takes all the work out of work...

Thanks everyone, it's always very humbling to read and then reply to threads like these...

:)

no thank you mike, i know it takes time and effort to do everything you do and i thank you. you never seem to ask for much from anyone when i read the threads you always dish out but never take. that's with AG too always giving free stuff and always tiring to keep this forum a place people always come back to. tell your *boss* he made the right choice of hiring you and everyone else at AG

I agree, I think Mike Phillips deserves a huge thank you from myself and the rest of this site. He is incredibly valuable to Autogeek. He just makes things so easily understood for the beginner all the way to the experienced enthusiast. I'm always learning something when I read his material. Autogeek should be proud, I personally think he gives them a ton more credibility than what they had pre-2009 when it comes to video content. I remember those old pinnacle and wolfgang video's. They had great instruction, but were far from entertaining. Mikes video's are very entertaining.

If i had to make a suggestion, I would love to see Mike do more video's on the Autogeek youtube channel. Not really product reviews, but more product how to's and best practices. Maybe have the video on a certain segment of car care products and line them all up on the shelf behind him and have him pick a few to try out. for example, rinseless wash's, waterspot removers, compounding, glass cleaning. stuff like that. I would imagine this stuff would be hugely beneficial to the youtube community and autogeek online.

Oh yeah, last thing, keep that guy Matt Steele out of Mike's video's. LOL. IMO they are like oil and water together. That pinnacle video had so many akwerd moments because Matt was so eager to start tasks before they were even explained. then he would botch the segment. like when he primed the pad with what looked like half the bottle of polish, then added more, then proceeded to turn the polisher on before it was touching the paint, and slung product everywhere. lmao. It was also akwerd to see him repeating word for word the same statements that Mike spoke about in previous video's. Almost like Matt watched those video's prior to making this one, and rushed to say them before mike could so it sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

Matt should stick to doing the product commercials and leave the how to's to Mike.

The Wolfgang video with Mike and Bruno was so much better because the guy Bruno didn't try as hard as he could to act like he knew what he was talking about. lol.

I really can not contribute anything to what has been said above, so I will just add my heart felt...THANK YOU ALL!

Bill

AG is the friendliest forum I've even visited. There are no flame wars, no bickering, etc. It's mostly helpful people discussing a common passion without getting passionate about their differences. Something you don't find too often in the world of on-line forums.

Mike of course is the best. I've learned soooo much from his posts and articles. Thanks for your awesome job Mike!!!!!
