Even today, I still hear some of 'those' remarks. I just shake my head and keep my mouth shut. Yes, I am proud of my time 'in.' I just answer, yea, I'm a vet and let it go at that.

I must add, I was not in the thick of things (knock on wood). But sure as hell know a LOT of Coasties who did make 'the trip.'
