Not sure the angle here but it was posted earlier about how many poor people could be fed for that much money, not sure how and why this always seems to come up when rich people buy what they do but its derailing the thread a bit.

Looks like another historically significant L88 comes up for auction next month:
Legendary 1969 “Rebel” L88 Corvette Racer For Sale at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction

This one went for $2.6 million

And this one:

This one is a '67, and the only Duntov award winner among L88's. Bloomington Gold Hall of Fame also. Current owner was the chairman of NCRS judging. It's possible this may bring a record price, but time will tell.
