ok i'm at a loss. we spent the week in topsail nc. on the beach. my truck was parked all week outside. my chrome rims from chevy were on. not the ones you can order as an up charge from chevy but separate ones that i ordered as summer shoes for the tahoe. today i went to wash and detail it and my rims are f'ed. all marked and oxidized it looks. i took a gentle pinnacle clay bar to them and got a lot out but they just still aren't to where i want them. they were only 2 months old. perfect before the trip.
my old 2011 chrome rims from the old tahoe survived 3 northeastern winters with that crazy salt spray we use up here now, but one week at the beach did me in?
any advice. was it ok to use the clay? i don't scratch them up at all that i know. i used prop a half gallon of lube to keep everything real slick. should i be using something else?
could the finish on these chevy rims be diff than my other?
i could use some advice. i'm ticked. i was going to put my winter rims and tires on for the trip and didn't. next year i am for sure.
