The brinkman light...

Also just to comment....

As I've posted multiple times in the past, in my opinion, the Brinkmann is the best swirl finder light on the market. Sure it's made in China and the factory rechargeable battery is probably not the best battery brand or option on the market but the key feature is the way it lights up the paint to reveal swirls and scratches in a PRACTICAL manner.

Some guys like lights that are as bright as the sun. The issue with this is you can never please them. If your work pleases the Brinkmann it's good enough for 99.9% of the world.

The other thing is the light from the Xenon bulb works best, again in my opinion for those of us that use video and photography to capture before and after shots. That includes me.

Other lights might be brighter and you can rattle off all the benefits and features you like about them but when I need to show before and after using my camera or when working with Yancy or a TV production team, the Brinkmann works better than any other light I've ever used.

So if you have one of the THOUSANDS of Brinkmann Swirl Finder Lights Autogeek sold for the last 5 years then instead of throwing it out or whining about it on some forum somewhere.... read Zach's article on how to replace the battery and then TREASURE it.

I like streamlight flashlights that use cree led's

I'll stick with what I wrote about how it works for MULTIPLE purposes not just finding swirls.

I know I have hundreds of pictures where I use the Brinkmann to showcase swirls not just because it showcases swirls but because when you go to take a picture using a camera to capture the siwrls lit up by the light the Brinkmann works best.

Same for video and TV work.

Here's the first TV show I did with Dennis Gage on My Classic car.

Introducing Dennis to the Swirl Finder Light

The first time I demonstrated the "Cruel Master" aka the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light he thought it was pretty cool.

When it came time to shoot this segment he used it to light up a patch of scratches so the camera guys could pick them up on camera.

Dennis likes the Brinkmann.

Honestly, I just moved and through my Brinkmann in the garbage. I was the one that took batteries - not the rechargeable one.

I had to take it apart a few times to fix wires and what not. Tried it before I moved and it didn't work again.

This is one of those tools that works so well and was so cheap I should have picked up 4 when I bought mine. Lesson learned.

Has anyone found a source for replacement bulbs? That site link in a previous post does not work.

Wish I had bought more too. I love it! Mine still works and I treat it like gold. So glad to know there is a fix to replace the batteries when it dies.
