I just got off the phone with the CD2 support line (312-649-2708), and the person I spoke to confirmed that CD2 Engine Detailer has been discontinued. This is very disappointing. This is my favorite engine bay dressing. I guess I'll have to run down to AutoZone and see if they have any cans of the stuff left.

What engine bay dressings does AutoGeek sell? I know that Megs HyperDressing is popular and perhaps that is what I will have to settle on, and I know that some successfully use Stoner Trim Shine; but are there other engine dressings out there you can recommend?

I am also intrigued by Griot's Engine Bay Dressing, which AG unfortunately does not sell.

How ironic. I JUST got back from autozone. I specifically went there to buy CD-2. They had about 5 cans. I think Duragloss #265 is very similar to CD-2.

Oh damn! Guess I have to stock up, now.

There have been rumors for a long time now that CD2 was discontinued, but I still keep finding it; not sure what's really going on with them.

Seems kind of dumb for them to discontinue the product.... did they happen to say WHY they've discontinued it?

I have enough CD2 to last me about 2 years... Even still, I will be clearing out my local AZ

Thanks for the heads up

I guess this explains why I cant seem to find it anywhere around here...

What? So its getting discontinued again? This is the second time around. I bet its going to be like last time. Discontinue it for a year and then bring it back again. Either way I still have 4 cans left so I'll be good. For a good alternative Megs HD, 303, Stoners trim shine, AG vinyl&rubber all work exceptionally well.

Haven't used CD-2 since I found out about Meguiar's HyperDressing. I did like CD-2 though. Maybe I'll go get some cans.

Again? "The Engine Dressing That Wouldn't Die!"

Stoner's More Shine works as well. You can get a full case of 12 for the price of 6-7 cans of CD.

I'm shocked no one has tried the Engine Bright ? sitting next to the CD2 at Autozone...

The guy behind the counter tried telling me it's the same thing in a different can.

I didn't fall for it last year and got 4 cans of CD2 instead. Very Nice stuff.

I'll be making a run this weekend to stock up.

Stoners Trim Shine is nice product also. A little more controllable out of the can.

CD2 comes out of the can pretty forcefully.

Anyone got some pics of HyperDressing appllied on a engine?

I think aerosol sprays are much easier for dressing engines than mist sprays such as Megs HD.

Who makes engine brite?

I may have to grab a couple cans of CD2 soon then. I've tried engine brite on my powerstroke and I smelled the stuff for weeks, even after making sure it was all washed off. Thats the only complaint I have about it.

Yeah, I was just about to suggest the Gunk Cleaner and Detailer. Black Magic also just came out with a product called 2-in1 Engine Shine that claims to degrease and shine.

Well, a guy over at MOL just called the Marvel support line and asked them to confirm that CD-2 is being discontinued. He was told that the product has NOT been discontinued; in other words, he was told just the opposite what I was told. My apologies if I passed on incorrect information.
