I’ve lurked on Meguiar's forum, it just isn’t as active/informative as Autogeek. I’m guessing Mike has a lot to do with that.

There is things I have learn here for sure. But being on some different forums it's hard to keep track at where I picked those thing. And I can say this that it's an awesome place to learn things from and take out to practice.

How could I forget Meguiar’s #7. Probably one of the most satisfying detailing processes.

Waterless and rinseless washing, another process that was totally foreign to me before AGO. I still don’t understand how RW & WW works so well, but it does
 
Wow awesome thread! I learned quite a bit here! I learned about coatings, waxes, sealants, compounds and polishes and DA's and I could go on and on! The most that I have learned is that this is a great site and even though I have never met most in person, I have learned that they have the same goal as I do...to become a great detailer PERIOD!

But probably the biggest thing I have learned from here is that I NO LONGER look at ANY RIDE the same....I am ALWAYS looking at the paint and how well it's maintained REGARDLESS of what type of vehicle! LOL! Example: I have an extremely rich business neighbor who gets a new exotic ride about every 6 months. His latest ride is a brand new McLaren 720S. I no longer look at the car like it's an exotic...I look for SWIRLS and SCRATCHES because this guy NEVER takes care of his ride.

But til this day I no longer look at a vehicle the way it's supposed to be....a vehicle. I look for how bad or good the vehicle is maintained!.....LOL

Learning how to properly correct paint, what to do and what not to do was the most beneficial thing I have learned.

When I joined the only paint correction method I knew was the Kevin Brown method using a Porter Cable. Not a bad method but certainly not the only one.
Immediately grabbed Mike's book, did lots of research on the forum and just opened my wallet.
 
Instead of adding to my post above which I made quickly while busy, I'll say this:

In addition to learning all of the things I have learned here, the actual enjoyment of it all, and witnessing the final product has become a never-ending addiction for me.

I only do my truck and wife's Jeep, but experimenting with different products to get the results you desire has become something I always look forward to doing now.

Also, the pride of driving a car or truck that others marvel at/compliment you on, is truly a great affirmation of all your hard work somewhere deep down.

All of this was only possible for me by learning from not only Mike, but all of you guys and gals here on AGO.
 
I always thought I had a mental health problem until I joined AGO. I've learned there are others out there with the same obsessive compulsive desire to have the nicest detailed car in the area!
