The Evolution of Detailing-Products Forgotten

Clearkote Vanilla Moose and Red Moose Glaze

Back in the day one of the killer combos. This topped with S100 was the "go to" combo. I even know of some forum members that mixed the two to create "Pink Moose".

Actually just found a bottle I had mixed way back in the day before I registered here. I think it was ScottWax who gave me the idea.

Great thread :dblthumb2:

(Sort of an Evolution, as it pertains to detailing-products):

I used to use that Classic red wash...I still have a tin of the aircraft cleaner wax and a can of some polish--I think I took some pictures of them for another thread a while back.

If nothing else, besides being VOC compliant now...
At least the Mascot's: Viking-'looks' have changed over the years.

I bet Ol' Erik The Red...would be disappointed, though

:)

{Some folks (Wife) say I haven't evolved a whole lot.}

Something that's cheap, easy to apply/remove and gives a great look that's not talked about it Meg's gold class liquid wax. Man I used to use that so much and loved the look. One of my customers even took first place at a show with it as the lsp. Ran out and never replaced it because I have shelves of other waxes I'm still trying to use up lol

Something I used to use back in my dealership days was Liquid Glass. We had certain customers that requested it when they brought their car in for a "detail". Stuff was a pain if you didn't apply it thin. We mostly used Car Brite stuff so Liquid Glass was the "expensive" stuff.

Richard. I remember Liquid Glass. I had a bottle myself. If you didn't apply it thin it was like concrete trying to remove it lol.

After all these years in this business I smile to see some products on our shelf that might not be moving as fast as before, it makes me think of when Cabbage Patch Dolls first came in, I waited in line for hours with my patient mom to grab one. Now you can grab one anywhere, still great cute dolls, just not as in demand! With that being said there are a lot of awesome products in our warehouse that have seen the days flying on the shelves and now they wait for their loyal fans to grab them. Doesn't mean they are any less of a product, just means we all like to experiment with new ones and play around with the products because it's our hobby and our fun in our garage! So try out the new stuff but don't forget your favorites because they have not changed, just waiting on you to come back to them! ;)

^^^ Sounds like a great BOGO to me, a special one, one that get's advertised before hand, just sayin'!

I posted on the Clearkote facebook page asking if they were still making products available... they responded back to say they are still going strong.
