Is the guzzler towel worth the 40 bucks, I have the absorber right now and it is good, but you need to wring it out sometimes and it streaks alot. I want to purchase the largest guzzler availible and I want it to be a worthwhile purchase

You will throw the absorber out the minute you try the guzzler. I did.

And yes, it is worth it unless you go with a master/metro blaster.

I do not have much space and I just want a good drying towel. I think Ill go with the guzzler

I have been using chamoise for a long time but just tried the guzzler. I love it but i also put soft water on car and blow off some water with my blower before i use it.

The guzzler is one of my prized possessions. It just never stops!!! Sucks up water like a vacuum! I just use the water blade on the wide flat panels of the car and the guzzler gets the rest. No streaks or smears or swirls and if you're misting down with a QD as you go, guzzler makes it so easy.

I didn't know if it would be worth it when I ordered it but I'm a believer now and won't be caught washing without it.

I use half a dozen truck size Absorbers. I have been using them for over a year with no issues. If you want a great shine, spray the car while still wet with UWW+ diluted in a spray bottle. Then wipe it dry with the absorber. Wring it out and put it in the plastic tube until the next time you need it. I do this most mornings before I go to work.

I bought the Guzzler HD a while back, and I love it. It really does soak up a lot of water. I bought one but sometimes it would get too wet and start streaking, so I bought another towel. I think I got them for like $20 a piece, but I can't remember for sure. I like them a lot though.

I don't know what Cobra Waffle Weave towels you guys are getting, but the green ones
I ordered about 3 months ago, just seem to push the water around my car. Am I doing something wrong, like washing them with warm water?
I got both the 16 x 24 & 20 x 40.
Help me out here.

Yea, becuase I buy the large microfiber bag of towels from costco, they are good value , but they streak the paint. I then have the absorber which soaks up alot, but then streaks when it can fit no more water. I have a sedan and a cuv/crossover. I think im going to buy this and use both if needed

Hmmm... don't know. I bought the green ones and the large one and the small one are all I need to suck my car dry.

You didn't wash them with fabric softener or bleach did you?

a waffle weave has an advantage over the absorber as debris/dirt can migrate into the pockets, where as the absorber does not and can scratch/mar if any contamination is on it when dragging it across the paint. if you blot dry it shouldn't be a problem but i've ditched the absorber years ago and would rather use a waffle weave. there are plenty to choose from and it you use the flood method with the hose, it should cut out most of the water you have to dry...

I've used a guzzler before , which I don't anymore . my first drying towels were the sonus towels . I really liked em ,then got the guzzler (free) and ive never looked back . i even tried the megs towel which is now for my wheels only . I really like the guzzlers . I got a crap load of them ,all sizes, for the purpose when towels are full (water logged) I'm not gonna wring it out , I'll just grab another . using a rnseless wash I can dry a whole full size truck with one big towel. traditional wash it takes a few towels . I guess I'll say if your looking for just one towel to dry your whole vehicle and it aint happening or u get streaking when it's full of water either wring it out or get some more towels . a towel can only hold so much . doesn't make it a bad towel . guzzlers are great , pricey but great . buy them in a bundle and get a better deal .

Mother's drying towel is the best i've tried so far. i used guzzlers for a couple years until someone turned me onto the Mother's piece.

now i use the Mother's towel to remove most of the water (if i'm not using an electric blower) and the Guzzlers to remove any slight remainder along with wiping off OPT spray wax or gloss enhancer, depending if the car is coated or not.

edit here,
should have been I've used the absorber before , to start . whoops !

The second I tried the ultimate guzzler I immediately fell in love with them. I still have like, 6 absorbers (from before using waffle weaves), and my new approach is first using an absorber to soak up a majority of the water, expectedly leaving streaks, and using a smaller guzzler go get everything spotless. It's more cost effective that way since I don't have to shell out $40 for each guzzler I buy but rather only like, $15.

No.
Just special Micro Fiber soap, warm water wash, cold water rinse.
Dry them in our gas dryer on normal.

To be more specific:
I use 1 large + 1 small guzzler on about 1/3 of the car. I go through 3, sometimes 4 sets of the green guzzlers. I start with the large one to absorb as much water as possible and then finish off with the smaller one.
I thought that maybe I should wet them fully and wring them out before I start?
What do you think?
BTW, I have ordered 2 PakSak MF towels to test.
I will come back to this thread to share my results.

Drying them on normal is likely the problem you need to dry on low heat or just air dry in the dryer of course heat has a adverse affect on microfiber

The best drying towels I found are from Griots. They're on the expensive side at $26.99 a piece but they do hold a lot of water and don't need to be constantly rung-out.

I did two cars and 1/2 a SUV with just one:

Micro Fiber Drying Towel - Drying - Car Care - Griot's Garage

I did, however, purchased the Metro Blaster to get to those pesty areas where the water runs after you finish the waxing part.

I have used the Absorber for atleast the last 10 years and have not had any problems at all with them. I have several in the shop now and still actually have the very first one I bought and it still works just like the new ones. Never have tried the guzzler, but the Absorber is wonderful.
