I really try not to work on weekends but I'm backed up, really bad.
So today I'll do a full detail on a white Hummer, not sure yet as to what type of paint correction I'll be doing.

Also have another Harley coming to my shop.
Ever since I did one others want their bikes done also, they ride in packs you know. Lol
I've been open for only 4 weeks and people are already slamming me with work, to a point I've only had two days off.

How many of you detail bikes?

Have fun detailing,
Kevin

Sounds like you need to consider raising prices for the new year. Yeah you may lose 5% of the clients but the $ raise will make up for it and you wont be soooooooooooooo busy!! GOOD FOR YOU KEVIN!!

My prices are fairly high now, I could go up more but may hurt business.
A few have said I was high but they continue to come.
I asked one why she continues to come being she feels my prices are high, she replied and said there's no one around here that does the "Great" work that I do.

Here's why I'm so busy,

There are 3-4 "Wash Shops" but no "Detail Shops"
People here have money and for the most part they don't mine paying $500.00 for a full detail wash, interior detail, two step paint correction on a Ford F-250 "Lifted Trucks"
I've done about a dozen of those big trucks since opening my shop.
My prices are cheaper than that when doing cars of course.

How long does a job like this take you?

What % paint correction is agreed upon with the Customer?

I did a large Hummer today, two step paint correction ,took me 4 hours.
Customer wanted the light scratches out but didn't want to pay for wet sanding.
90% corrected.
Trucks take me about the same amount of time using my Flex.
I try to make $60.00 per hour on avg.

That is unbelievably fast

You Compounded and Polished the Hummer in 4 hours?

4 hrs! WOW. I'm not even in that ballpark.
I've done bike,. Harleys only. I won't do the other ones

I didn't tape on this one.
The reason it only took four hours was the defects weren't too bad and the customer didn't want to do the roof, just to seal it.
Took me two hours to wash and prep it, four hours of machine work.
Once done with the hood the rest went fairly quickly.

I'll post more pictures later. :dblthumb2:

The Flex really gets it, loving my Flex:dblthumb2:
Today I'll be cleaning the interior using my new DP Cleaning Gun

More bikes coming, have a V Rod coming today:dblthumb2:

V rods are really cool, please post some pics. If you don't have a bike lift, get one. I love doing Harleys. Lot of work but man, when they are done they are stunning. The new Indian looks really good, but I haven't had one in the garage yet

I'll have to invest in a lift soon.
The V Rods aren't as hard to detail as this one but still takes time.
All worth it once complete.

That makes more sense, but you are still way faster than me

4 - 5 hours is about right. No taping and 2- Step with the Flex is possible on the Hummer.

I recently did a Honda Accord Coupe with serious swirl issues. No taping saves a lot of time. A coat of Sealant as the LSP.

HateSwirls, BEAUTIFUL WORK!! I am happy to see that you are SLAMMED!! And it is Winter too!!! Can you imagine what will happen in the Summer???

Awesome problem to have. As for working on the Hogs...man taking longer than the Hummer....wow!! Either way, beautiful work and I am glad for you. I have never worked on a motorcycle. I would not know what to do!

But way cool you are busy!!! The Flex saves quite a bit of time as I know you recently purchased it. I am waiting for the Flex Kompakt for me to try it out. I will let you know how it goes.

I think that little polisher may be just right in helping you with the motorcycles, however, I would not be able to comment as I do not even have it yet!!

The Flex is worth every penny what it cost.
Saves me a lot of time.

I'm booked again this week,I tell you man, I'm blessed with people that love my work.
Being busy in the winter only tells me I'll be very bust some spring.
One day last week I had to park a couple of cars across the street, a friend of mine lives there and let's me park there when needed.

I'm not big on taping, wash ,clay and get to it, I've been doing this for so many years and don't feel to tape up on DD.
That's just me.

Flex Kompakt?

All done with the Hummer...

My customer was very happy with my work:)

Still think you may want to consider a price increase. You will start losing work if you cant keep up anyway. It does mean you will lose people but you will still have the same income and not work as hard.
